been looking all around for info on this. Can't find anything anywhere. I did a search of these forums and didn't see anything usefull. Figured I would bump this up....

there must be some info someplace that says what these attributes do. How can we know what to put our points in if we don't know what they are?

I dont have any official information but given that each attribute seems to be useful and there isnt any good way to differentiate them; I just try to keep them all about equal.

there's a good deal of info on this over at vanguardcrafters.

in particular, these guides http://www.vanguardcrafters.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=57&sid=655791bfe7d84d3e9184dd62f1530dba

Equal = Bad. Read the guides the sjb1 linked to. Each attribute is important for specific things, but depending on your objective as a crafter, you need to allocate them differently. For example, it is generally accepted(no hard data, mind you, but it seems to hold true) that Ingenuity has a point of diminishing returns, i.e. there is a point at which increasing it does not get you much more of an advantage.

The offensive/defensive crafter guides is the one that I found particularly helpful. I use the offensive crafter model and am now a 22 artificier doing B and A quality Moderate WOs.

A word of caution, equality in stats isnt generally that nice, because you only have so many stat points and you cant keep everything up to level unless you constantly invest in new gear.

However, large disparity in stats is bad as well. I was riding about 330 tool skills at level 23, but my utilitys and station were 190-200. It was incredible getting 50% quality for a handful of AP during the tool stages, but i found that with such low other skills, i simply couldnt complete my real recipes at the level i got them. I since then did a gear re-assignment, and all my skills and stats are at about , with tools only slightly higher at 270ish, and i was suddenly easily able to make most of my recipes instead of grinding tooth and nail on em.

Since then, balance with a slight disparity is the way to go for me. Play it by ear.

The majority if your stats/skill points will come from gear as you level, so you cant really irreversibly damage yourself.

I routinly get A's and B's for moderate WO's as well. The offensive/defensive crafter *theory* is fine, but it doesnt mean everyone has to pick offence or defence to be successful.

All of the attributes are helpful. They all do different things, and any crafter needs to do all those different things. Equality.

Like a great many other things, everyone has a different take on skill allotment.
Follow the guide as a baseline and adjust it to your personal crafting style.

Look at the tooltips as you craft. They will tell you what skill you are going to be using. When you see that you are using one particular skill more than the others, put some extra pts in it.
Just remember not to put all your eggs in one basket. What works for you at your current lvl may not be what you will want at higher tiers.

And use your clothing to help out. Sometimes the highest stat gear may not be your best bet. Lower stats, but the ones you need are better than more overall points.
There also seems to be a point of diminishing returns for each of the stats. Yet another reason not let one skill get too much ahead of the others.
