1) Stinging Backfist, the monk first (and only, so far) counterattack costs 27 Endurance. It only triggers after a Dodge (not very often), it does not give a Jin point and (I believe) it does not trigger a Finishing Move when it crits. Despite all those limitations, it does LESS damage at every level (up to level 18) than our basic special attack, Boundless Fist.
Ex, at level 8:
- Boundless Fist II - A powerful attack that deals melee damage plus 34 damage (Increases Jin by 1) - 24 End
- Stinging Backfist I - Counterattack your opponent, quickly backhanding for 46 to 52 damage - 27 End
What's the point? Did I miss something? It should cost very little Endurance to be useful, if any.
2) Actually, I don't have a question about Staggering Punch, I thought it through. But tell me if I'm wrong. Only for Drunken Monks.
- Staggering Punch I - A well aimed attack that does 50% damage, and staggers your opponent for 8 secs. Increase Jin by 1.
"staggers" means it opens the "Staggered" Vulnerability on the mob. Not sure why they do not use the icon system instead. It does not stun or anything. The interesting thing is that Crescent Kick (low damage, adds 2 Jin) takes advantage of that Vulnerability.
Staggering Punch used to cost 6 End, and has been changed (NERFD!) to 22 End. But it's still beneficial over spamming Boundless Fist.
Example, around level 17, bare fists.
Scenario I:
Boundless Fist, followed by Boundless Fist: 100+50dmg, 100+50dmg. Total = 300dmg, +2 Jin. 48 End.
Scenario II:
Crescent Kick, followed by Boundless Fist: 100dmg (CK), 100+50dmg (BF). Total = 250dmg, +3Jin. 39 End.
Scenario III:
Staggered Punch followed by Crescent Kick: 75+25dmg (SP), 200dmg (CK). Total = 300dmg, +3 Jin. 37 End.
SP used to cost 6 End. Now, using SP is still better but barely noticeable.
