Being all confused about how the attribute points work, I sat down and crunched the numbers for warriors.

All warrior races start with these stats for levels 1 to 9:
STR 35 CON 50 DEX 40 VIT 35 INT 25 WIS 25

There are 41 levels at which APs are distributed (10, 11, ..., 49, 50).

Everyone automatically gets 1 point per attribute on each of those 41 levels, so adding 41 to each stat, you automatically get at level 50:

STR 76 CON 91 DEX 81 VIT 76 INT 66 WIS 66

Each human race (Thestran Human, Kojani Human, Qaliathari Human, Mordebi Human) may spend 5 points per attribute each level instead of the normal 4. 5x41=205, so the maximums for each stat for human races at level 50 are:
STR 281 CON 296 DEX 286 VIT 281 INT 271 WIS 271
(You would only be able to achieve two of these maximums.)

All non-human warrior races only get to spend 4 points per attribute each level, but they each have an additional 4 points automatically spent:
Dwarf: CON+3, WIS+1. Halfling: DEX+3, WIS+1. Vulmane: STR+1, DEX+1, WIS+2. Varanjar: STR+2, CON+1, WIS+1. Lesser Giant: STR+3, CON+1. Wood Elf: DEX+2, VIT+2. Half Elf: DEX+1, VIT+1, INT+2. Orc: STR+2, CON+2. Goblin: VIT+3, INT+1. Gnome: CON+1, INT+3. Kurashasa: CON+2, INT+2. Varanthari: STR+1, CON+2, WIS+1.

So the maximums each non-human warrior race may receive, including both the automatic racial points and the player-distributed points, for each stat each level are:
Dwarf: STR 4 CON 7 DEX 4 VIT 4 INT 4 WIS 5
Halfling: STR 4 CON 4 DEX 7 VIT 4 INT 4 WIS 5
Vulmane: STR 5 CON 4 DEX 5 VIT 4 INT 4 WIS 6
Varanjar: STR 6 CON 5 DEX 4 VIT 4 INT 4 WIS 5
Lesser Giant: STR 7 CON 5 DEX 4 VIT 4 INT 4 WIS 4
Wood Elf: STR 4 CON 4 DEX 6 VIT 6 INT 4 WIS 4
Half Elf: STR 4 CON 4 DEX 5 VIT 5 INT 6 WIS 4
Orc: STR 6 CON 6 DEX 4 VIT 4 INT 4 WIS 4
Goblin: STR 4 CON 4 DEX 4 VIT 7 INT 5 WIS 4
Gnome: STR 4 CON 5 DEX 4 VIT 4 INT 7 WIS 4
Kurashasha: STR 4 CON 6 DEX 4 VIT 4 INT 6 WIS 4
Varanthari: STR 5 CON 6 DEX 4 VIT 4 INT 4 WIS 5

Thus, the maximums for each stat for all warrior races at level 50 are:
Thestran Human: STR 281 CON 296 DEX 286 VIT 281 INT 271 WIS 271
Dwarf: STR 240 CON 378 DEX 245 VIT 240 INT 230 WIS 271
Halfling: STR 240 CON 255 DEX 368 VIT 240 INT 230 WIS 271
Vulmane: STR 281 CON 255 DEX 286 VIT 240 INT 230 WIS 312
Varanjar: STR 322 CON 296 DEX 245 VIT 240 INT 230 WIS 271
Lesser Giant: STR 363 CON 296 DEX 245 VIT 240 INT 230 WIS 230
Kojani Human: STR 281 CON 296 DEX 286 VIT 281 INT 271 WIS 271
Wood Elf: STR 240 CON 255 DEX 327 VIT 322 INT 230 WIS 230
Half Elf: STR 240 CON 255 DEX 286 VIT 281 INT 312 WIS 230
Orc: STR 322 CON 337 DEX 245 VIT 240 INT 230 WIS 230
Goblin: STR 240 CON 255 DEX 245 VIT 363 INT 271 WIS 230
Qaliathari Human: STR 281 CON 296 DEX 286 VIT 281 INT 271 WIS 271
Gnome: STR 240 CON 296 DEX 245 VIT 240 INT 353 WIS 230
Kurashasa: STR 240 CON 337 DEX 245 VIT 240 INT 312 WIS 230
Mordebi Human: STR 281 CON 296 DEX 286 VIT 281 INT 271 WIS 271
Varanthari: STR 281 CON 337 DEX 245 VIT 240 INT 230 WIS 271
(You would only be able to achieve two of these maximums for a race.)

Best races by max stat:
STR: Lesser Giant 363; Varanjar and Orc 322
CON: Dwarf 378; Orc, Kurashasha and Varanthari 337
DEX: Halfling 368; Wood Elf 327
VIT: Goblin 363; Wood Elf 322
INT: Gnome 353; Half Elf, Kurashasa 312
WIS: Vulmane 312; Dwarf, Halfling, Varanjar, Varanthari 271

Stat ranges:
STR: 240 to 363
CON: 255 to 378
DEX: 245 to 368
VIT: 240 to 363
INT: 230 to 353
WIS: 230 to 312

At most, there is a difference of 123 points between the worst and best for a stat max. The hard cap maximum for all stats at level 50 is 900.

How much that 123 points matters... remains to be seen.

My personal opinion on which stats matter the most for warriors: I think it's staring you right in the face, at the beginning: STR 35 CON 50 DEX 40 VIT 35 INT 25 WIS 25.

If you find any errors, please let me know and I will fix it.

When you are creating your character just move the mouse over eace race and it tells you what stat automatically gets updated and what the racial ability is.

That guide is a bit off. Check out the attribute guide at Ten Ton Hammer. That is up to date.

Aye, the ign guide is outdated, and the Ten Ton Hammer guide, here (http://vanguard.tentonhammer.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=472#Overview), is better.

For this numbercrunching, I pulled numbers directly from game - created a couple of warriors to check that they all start with the same stats, used the info in character creation to check and understand the racial bonuses, and noted carefully what happened when my warrior turned level 10.
