So one of my favorite aspects of any mmorpg is HOUSING!! WOOOHOOO!!! *JOY*
Which presents the following questions...
-What do you think the housing system will be like? What do you want to see in it?
Personally I loved UO's housing system.. and VSoH seems to have a lot of that in the mix! Love how there is very little instance within the game, makes for lots of community!! *God i love Community*
I hope to see where you can make Co-Owners and actual Guildhall options within the system.. Make different ranks within the housing system for guildhall have different accessabilty options..
I loved locking things down so people couldn't move the main decorative parts.. Making containers, chests, boxes all useable by different lvls of security within the houses friends list..
Playing UO for 5 years, i'd say.. @ least 3.5+years was upgrading my standard of living.. I had guildhall as well as a personal home. Guildhall was a 2story villa, personal home was upgraded a lot.. depending on what i did.. pvp i had a small marble workshop 2 screens (about 6seconds on horse) from the Yew Moongate, so that made it very pvp oriented.. I remember my first house.. Mmm... About.. 30seconds outside the southeast outskirts of Vesper. Small cobblestone house.. one floor.. enough for a bed and couple chests.. Then sold that as time went on, lived out of a boat for a while.. then bought my new house, mining workshop outside minoc, Lived near Cove for a while in a small tower.. Finally i ended with a log cabin, which i plotted and designed my own awesome abode. Mmmm..
Designing the houses was the best!! Decorating was amazing.. This kept me in game for a good 3 years after i had done most of what there was.. PvP was great, adventuring.. My characters maxed out, had my gm blacksmith.. I had fun, YES FUN!!! Going out and chopping trees, mining.. getting things from the land to decorate my house with whatever furnishings i wanted.
I hope Vanguard has just as much and hopefully MORE options and customization and just amazing experience as UO offered through housing!
