In beta my buffs were group buffs. This was nice cause you could cast them and you knew your group was taken care of. The buffs are all single target now and I don't see what value this adds to the game. Especially since unless I'm missing something I have no way to see if everyone is buffed or not.

it is pretty annoying having to buff each person individually. i believe we have "observed" or spell scroll dropped versions of our buffs making them group buffs, but that's only 2nd hand info i've heard and i have no personal verification on that.
is that confirmed jeters?

I guess the plus side is that you can buff people (and recieve buffs from people) who aren't in your group. Buffing up in a group is definately a pain in the ass though. ;(

You can cast group buff spells on players outside of your group. When cast the spell will affect your defensive target and yourself.

You could still buff people outside your group before when the buffs were group based. In fact if they were standing near there group you would buff the whole group!
I hope there is a way to get back to like it was before because it was far better.

Hmm. Then I guess they're just trying to make the buff system as painful as possible! :D

It is an intended change. They are making the high level group buff spells drops and they want to make them desirable so they give you single target spells until then. And yeah, it is annoying and more buttons I have to push, but it is liveable. For timing spells, I cast them on myself first and then go down the line. Sure, when someone dies or comes later or whatever it may throw things off, but I just rebuff as needed to keep the timing accurate with my buffs. I just wish pet owners could see their own pet's buffs at least, I often forget to rebuff pets and the owners don't even know :p

While I group buffs would make it super easy, wtf do people want? You want it ALL done for you? This isn't EQ where Resolution takes 5 seconds per cast at a cost of 1/4 your mana bar each cast.
As it is now, we have:
INSTANT cast buffs (w/ a few exceptions)
They take next to ZERO mana
You can fully buff your whole group for an hour in under 45 seconds
Wow, what a bummer...

G15 keyboards help *g*
I made a macro that buffs my whole group.

Oh buffing is such a pain. Firstly there is no notification when buffs drop other then remembering to look up top. I would like to see something in my chat box at least when my buffs are about to expire.
Also I have to click through 5 buffs on 6 people and getting them to stop long enough to do all that is tricky. We usually get jumped and then I loose track of who had what.
Oh well at least buffs are instant cast and don't cost much energy so it could be much worse. :p
The Vanguard cleric is so much fun, having some better buff indicators would just be icing on my cake.

I can confirm that at least for bloodmages, there is a group version of every spell in the game that can be gotten at higher levels....probably observed or dropped off high end mobs a la EQ. There's always the possibility that you could gain them through the AA system as well.
as for buff indicator...well, I always buff myself first, then when mine fade I know its time to redo. its not exactly rocket science.
I can also tell you that this was ALWAYS the intention --- we originally did not get group buffs in beta, but because of stuff like having to constantly rebuff due to crashes they decided to give us a break. Maybe we got spoiled by it a little bit =p
