Currently, Phoenix shaman do not gain anything imedietly useful to themselves or the party, when compared to what the bear and wolf get at 15 and 18.

The phoenix transformation gives fire damage, fire crits, and fire resist, and we DONT HAVE ANY fire spells! And when we finnaly get one, it costs to much to be worth casting over spirit strike, and it cannot trigger a finisher! (And you must know that Umbra Burst is fundamentally broken too, because of its long reset time).

Being the 'nuker' shaman, we take away from our ability to heal so that we can deal our damage. The bear and wolf use endurance for that, and can save for heals easier. Phoenix shaman need the mana regen buff (perhaps a self only version of it) much earlier.

I must also suggest that Phoenix shaman be the only healing class with access to a late level combat-rez. It is the bird of rebirth after all.

Any other Phoenix shaman have time to be more informative than I have been? I've vowed not to play my Hayatet until I see some buffing of the class into line with the other totems.

I agree.

For now, though, I am perfectly happy with my bird. The pet isn't that bad, and it certainly looks cool. I'm sure that the abilities will be tweaked in the future, and I'm in no rush.

Also, no matter how many other druids, shaman, bards or sorcerors can levitate and run around in the air, no one else can do it as a freakin' flaming bird. The sexiness is almost overpowered.

I totally agree. I only log my H shaman in to heal for a guild encounter. Other than that, he is parked until the do something, anything, to make the pet equal to the other forms.

shrug

until then, I will play with my nerfed Psi.

I play a level 32 shaman of hayatet. Yes I agree that the first levels after 15 are a bit gimpy for hayatet, but by 20 it's pretty well balanced with the bear and wolf, and other healers in general. Try grouping with casters more often if you can, our patron is designed to work well with the offensive casters, just as the wolf and bear work well with a melee dps oriented group. My only real suggestion is to keep leveling, it only gets better (and more fun) for us over time.

This isnt about PvP. Balance should not be about PvP.

Thanks for the tips for now, Puddles. I might continue to play it before its skills are realigned, or i might continue with my 11 bard or 9 druid.
