It would be cool if we could actually make it over to Fubared's tent. All his 4dot level 25 adds wander all over CIS raping and pillaging and hunting down everyone who has been within 100m of where they were standing. And finally, after we finally get there cause all his leftover adds from previous fights are stuck in rock crevices and whatnot, 3 other groups show up, so we all kill each other and end up pulling Fubared, which then starts the cycle all over again.

WOW. AWESOME. COOL. I evaced after some more ridiculous crap, and FUBARED'S ADDS somehow evaced with me and started raping everyone at the altar. I love this game.

The Cloak quest is painfully buggy, but part of the problem is that people try and fight Fubared by pulling him over a nearby ditch rather than doing the encounter.

Highly recommended to team up with another party to help out. Even then, bugginess will make you weep. ;)

QFT!

The best way to do this is to sneak into his tent area by hugging the mountains to the west. Clear the tent. Have everyone but the tank wait behind the tent. Send the tank in to hail/complete quest dialogue. The next part is important. Do NOT attack the captain right away. Attack his minions first. Once they are down, attack the captain till he gets down to 80%. His minions will spawn again, so kill those and ignore captain. Attack captain another 20%, kill minions, repeat until the captain is dead.

If you just try to burn down the captain, you get swarmed by up to 10 4 dot 24s. Not a pleasant thought.

I've seen full groups of 19s do this, so it can be done. Some things to think about, keep your aggro levels down and conserve your energy and stamina. Its a long fight if there is just one group. Protect the healer(s) as top priority because without them the group doesn't last long. battle rez the dpsrs to keep them in the fight and balancing out the aggro if they should die.

Dear lord, i think Worf summed it up in his post, those adds are like assasins on crack, managed to get the quest done after close to 20 deaths and a full retreat back to the Entrance, beware of the ninja adds they appear from anywhere. If you are going to do this quest do it right the first time otherwise you are going to be running from his storm trooper adds for half an hour.

Must say though lmao the quest has it's perks when you see everyone haul *** out of the zone.

How long have people complained about this damn quest being buggy? Why hasn't it been fixed? If it takes too long to fix it (there seem to be far too many problems with all sorts of scripted, non-regular encounters in this game) then beef up Captain Fubar but loose the bugged adds.

Finally got the quest done, but only cause I was grouped with 2 groups who were working together.

Took me 1 try...at lv20 (with a group obviously) to get it done. But I do find it annoying how buggy the quest is.

I got my cloak a few days ago and the way we did it was exactly like this. It's a very slow process, but it's the safest and most un-bugged way to do it. It will, of course, require that you have a balanced group set up. I'd recommend:

Cleric
Disciple
Warrior
Bard
Ranger
Psi

The Cleric can offtank one of his adds, while the psi keeps the other locked down. Once one is killed cleric grabs the second add and group minus tank burns him down. Then focus back on Fubar to drop him to next wave of adds.

A lot of people thought this quest was timer based, but it is, in fact, % based in regards to him calling guards.

Hope that helps a bit.

The Captain should be leashed as of next patch and will reset if you try to pull him out of the tent.

Additionally, I just changed it a bit now so that the adds won't be as crazy should you evac or run like the scared little schoolgirls that you are :D

Sheesh you nerfed him! Now everyone can finish the Captain and make this just like WoW. :p

I am disappointed that there is no longer a cloak for tanking. Since defensive fighters lost the dodge skill, our only choice is the +2hs cloak.

Looking at the choices provided I'm sure the intention was that there would be one of these uber cloaks for everyone. Please add one for parry or block and give those who got the 2hs or dodge cloaks the option to trade them in.

...this isnt going to be the only cloak in the game...take the AC and str and be happy. There will be more cloaks much better. This is just the first.

We tried this twice last night and both times at some point in the fight while we were focusing on the adds the Captain just reset. Very frustrating. Anyone else seen this?

Cloak of Pantheon is the next good upgrade. Finished ours a few days ago.

I got the "strange things are afoot" quest and I was told to speak to warder Pondar. The problem is that when I talk to him, he goes though all the dialogue but hangs at the " you have given me something to ponder" stage without offering a quest.

I have tried hailing him on the move and waiting for him to stop. I have tried abandoning the quest and restarting but no luck.

Any suggestions?

i did this quest at lest 10 times and was bugged for most of them. clear tent hail capt and any thing from 3 to 5 gaurds would run in.
it was not till they down graded the guards i got it finshed. clear tent hail capt and batter him to death ignore guards all loot and die or evac.we killed him just out of back door of tent but many time we trid inside tent.
then guess what got to third part or ring quest and thats bugged too.
waiting till they fix it.

After the fix it becomes almost trivial if there's a 22+ psi in the party. The guard adds don't resist the AE mez often enough to be a huge problem. When we did it the first time, I kept them locked down while everyone else burned Fubared and then turned around and took down the adds one at a time. We saw the group ahead of us have a problem with him leashing back inside, so we didn't bother pulling him anywhere else.

I have seen a lot of groups TPW on this encounter. Two groups the first time I went through it and another two, plus one group of bystanders the second time I went through. I can only imagine what things looked like when he summoned more guards. :D
