View Full Version : Something fishy with Blood Feast

I'm wondering if any other Blood Mages have experienced any weird aggro while using Blood Feast. For kicks I cast it on a couple people nearby in a dungeon that weren't in my group, and shortly thereafter mobs were coming out of nowhere to attack me. It kept happening long after BF would have worn off of the other people, and I had to relog to fully fix it. I know that doesn't lend credence to BF being the cause, but we couldn't think of another reason.
I know Blood Feast is a heal, but whose heal is it? Is it like I'm healing myself as far as heal aggro goes? Could it be adding unwanted self-aggro, being in a constant state of self-healing?

I don't understand it either. The desc is very vague

I have been seeing strange aggro behaviour since I got feast as well. Mobs can suddenly aggro you without you doing anything other than standing still if your group has feast on them.

Blood Feast is an active buff - meaning that anytime they take damage the buff with activate.
If you buff someone that is in combat, you gain aggro as well (not a lot of hate, but enough so that the monsters might come to you if no one else builds hate)
Since Blood Feast is continually activating each activation is probably building hate hence mobs that are merely being left to "sit there" are building hate against you and not a lot against the group.
Blood Feast also is a double edged aggro sword because not only is the buff activating, it's also healing you which means you're getting aggro from the heal as well.
They probably need to look at it and definitely should restrict it to group members to help alleviate the problems. To keep yourself safe in the meantime I'd try to cast it on AoE using tanks only such as DK since they hold group hate better.
