Can't beat this guy.

I'm doing a quest in three rivers I have to excite people about something. I got 3 of them but this last guy doesn't use red and has this card that is 0 and gives him 5 green and then he plays his cards. I can't do anything against him because I'm so heavy on red...any thoughts?

I have a few cards that cost zero and give me two red. They have quick refresh times (one is 1-3 *Fan the Flames*, the other is 2-4 *Blunt Evaluation*). I use those to bump up my Demand (Red).

Then I use my 4 place mover *Flurry of Arguments* or my five place mover *Resolution*. FoA cost 3 Demand. Resolution cost 1 Red, 1 Blue and 1 Yellow.

I think those and probably *Loud Criticism* Moves three and cost Two Blue.

I also think I have a card that subtracts 2 or 3 green. I will look it up when I get home and reply. If he is heavy green user taking them from him may help as well.

Thanks but that's my issue. I'm heavy on red and red is blacked out during this parlay so I have nothing. He gives me a lot of blue but I only have one decent blue card...I'm beginning to think without more cards I can't beat him and cards are selling for 70s on broker and they are not that good. :(

My bad.. I didn't associate "doesn't use red" to it was blocked. I have difficulty with red blocked conversations as well...

Since he feed particularly blue? Try and bump up your deck in that color.

You may want to see about grinding up some levels above him so you start out in the lead.

Hopefully you'll have gotten some more cards by then as well.

The card that gives him 5 reason sounds like a Repeal. If so, then a rebut of whatever color is fueling that card would be helpful. If not, please give more details about the card he is playing (name, cost, refresh rate, influence).

The card he plays cost 0 so he can play it as soon as it refreshes...right about the same time my -2 green refreshes but it doesn't help much.

Where can I get more cards..I seem to run into dead ends everywhere. I have three open diplo quests but two I can't beat the guys(same reason, no red) and the other I can't get the soldier presense to talk to him. I have a 14 slot bag +2 slots filled with diplo clothes to swap out presense and there is nothing more I can buy to give me the +5 I need for 50 soldier. Any thoughts on where I should go, I did major diplo in BC that got me to level 65 and now I'mworking on three rivers, seems everywhere else I go(Tursh, Leth) I don't have the right presense to talk to anyone.

I think the problem is that you built a single color deck. My first character had the same problem. Every time I got a choice between cards as rewards I always chose the one that would help my main color. The thing is that my main color is pretty much self sufficient with the cards I already have. So with my second character I started to build up a secondary color for those parleys that did not allow my primary color.

Unfortunately doing this at the point you are now would require you to do one of two things. You can either reroll like I did or you can spend alot of money on mediocre cards at the broker. Basically a deck that is only strong in one color is going to have a hard time when that color is blocked.

Without knowing which card he's playing, it's hard for me to offer advice on how to beat it. I don't know of any cards that cost 0 and give the NPC 5 expression. That sounds like an evaluation, but I have never seen one give that much expression. If it is an eval, I would think it would have a pretty long refresh timer.
