Had a 30 level enemy shamen come to TANU and lill all the crafters(who were 12-14 level). When the crafters returned to get their body they we killed repeatedly. Has to be more penaltys for grey ganking .

Wah wah wah. Go play a bluebie server if you don't want to get ganked.
You got a complaint about mechanics or spells? Sure. You complain about not being able to sit there and churn out money without fear of death? Get off a pvp server.

Remember that the next time you can't find that horseshoe or armor on sale at the AH.
Attacking crafters is just cutting off your own legs.
(btw, I'm a crafter. I do it to our enemy every time someone come's and kills us.)

Yeah, sorry, learn to deal with it. This isn't WOW, thank god! Restrictions on a dedicated PVP server = NO! The penalty (risk/reward) is too low as it is.
Oh, and what do you mean return to get their bodies? You don't drop bodies if you die in PVP. He was also clearly outside the 20% lvl difference so what exactly did you lose that was so valuable? Why can't they move to a different area, call for help, get some guildies to come down, have fun trying to take him down with other lower levels?

The PvP aspect should be accepted. If someone is able to sneak past the guards and attack a player, so be it.
However, the guard faction issue should not. The opposing player should not be 'friendly' with the guards while the are attacking the city (An Order Player killing Shadow Players in a Shadow city is a form of attack). The guards should not wave greetings and let the player walz through the city.
Talk about taking the challenge out of a game. Becoming Friends and remaining friends during a killing spree is just stupid.
PvP is about challenge. Part of the challenge in this situation should be having to avoid the guards, not exploit the fact that PvP (espeically team PvP) was an after thought by Sigil and the PvE game, VG.

the pvp faction system isn't finished. this is a fact.
pvp without any world effect is stupid.
vanguard pvp should be a challange and not a simple and brainless fighting action with some coin loot between players.
my wish of a true pvp / faction system:
http://www.silkyvenom.com/forums/showpost.php?p=114797&postcount=13
in another forum one person wrote, after reading my idea, that i should stop crying and complaining about gangers.
in order to give these people to understand:
i don't cry and complain about gankers with this idea! i complain about the nonsense pvp, that this pvp has no world effect.
i play vanguard because i hoped players are part of the world in pve and even in pvp. sigil implemented diplomatic to interact with the npc's to gain something for the pc's.
this would be for pvp good as well: consequences for your actions
nothing more... it isn't a complain about gankers... i know that this is and should be a part of the game. this is the reason why i wrote this idea of this pvp system.
i hate safe zones, but more i hate is no interaction in pvp with the gaming world beside the player economics and society.
i hoped vanguard would offer this in pvp...
with a good pvp / faction system it would be a opportunity to increase coin loot (or possible item loot). so you have a better "risk and reward" experience.
Reward: gain more coin - Risk: KOS status at the specific faction
a permanent faction or guard KOS would destroy the freedom players should have in the vanguard gaming world, because: the only limits are your own
the players should decide what way they go in a pvp environment but with pro's and con's

Pretty sure he meant tombstones. And you do drop them.
I get ganked by the same 3-4 players (pretty much all shamans...) in Khal every time I hit Khal. Can't really complain, I joined a PvP server :) Doesn't make them any less gankerific though (level 25-35 spending all night ganking the same level 12s)! :P

Baruga, someone saying that you are 'crying' is pretty much either an idiot, or someone that can only PvP via exploits - the type that cry when they are simply beaten by more skilled players.
Hopefully, what ever dev is in charge of PvP will take a look at yours and others ideas on how to improve Team PvP. Seems this is the only place they seem to be.
I am hoping it grows, instead of being left to die on the vine.

No, attacking crafters is attacking the supply lines of your enemies. I don't care about the AH, cus I have a good guild. If I need things, I rely on my own crafters, not some order scum.

it seems insane to not attack crafters - it's like the USAAF saying no no no we don't need to destroy the nazi synthetic oil and ball bearing factories what do they contribute?
that and crafters are loaded with cash muahahahha

Thats funny. I was the target of maybe the same guys on varking. I was seriously ticked after the 6 time, but then I found out that you could summon your tombstone. I was still upset, but heh, thats part of joining a pvp server I guess. I just need to lvl faster and pass him up and wait for him to be crafting and gank him...haha!!!!!

Ganking is the name of the game, I feel like every one any where on the opposing faction is fair game its even more fun to get passed their defences (guards at the city) and go in for the unsuspected tradeskiller thinking their safe for the killl! Nothing more fun for me than heading over to jahlens crossing leaving bodies in my wake to slaughter goodies looking for a group or selling or fixing armor its a ball!

This isnt WWII.
This is life in a fantasy world, called Telon.
And for all intensive purposes, NPC's are considered as part of the population of any Town just like PC's on that town.
It just does not make sence to have anyone standing by watching helpless citisens getting slaughtered.
And this has nothing to do with restrictions, it has to do with a gameplay, a world, that makes sence.
Right now, the game gives the impression that it is broken. Much to Sony's and Sigil's discredit.
But, to Sigil's credit, they were rushed to release, so I am wiling to give the game a wide birth, and wait at least 3-4 months before making any definite decision of staying in this game or not.
All I can do is hope they are working to fix things and make the World one that makes sence to immerse in to, and fun to play in to.
As for any crafters till things get fixed, try to keep a minimum of money in to you, there is a bank in the building in front of the gates by the crafter area in Tanvu.
When I craft I often go back and forth to the bank not holding more than 1 silver on my character, because these 20+ gankers have found a nice way to farm gold in Tanvu...well..not from me.
I let crafting down last time one attacked and together with others we brought one down, I hapened to shoot the last blow and I got 5 silver off of him..they are full of cash, because they farm crafters...just all gank em and make their day a bad one till things get fixed by sigil.
They will think twice about doing it again after 3-4 deaths. ;)

Pretty sad.
Might as well brag about how you ran a 99 yard touch down....2 hours after the game had ended and everyone had left the field. :D
Stuff like this is just wannabe PvP, with the computer making up for the lack of player skill.
I actually think it would be cool if they programmed it so the guards pointed and laughed at such players, or maybe after a short period the game transfers the ganking character to a pve server, so they can feel at home.

Problem is, they dont have to sneak past the guards. The guards do nothing.
The crafters should have +crafting faction, and the lvl 40 npc's in the hut should beat the attackers down but they don't.
1000s of diplomacy faction get you absolutely no protection. 1000s of crafting faction - same. 1000s of city faction - zero help from npc's.
Killing a player in their home city should give you a huge faction hit.
Griefing and ganking is a legit strategy in a team vs team game. Causing crafters to lose time and money is helpful to your cause, and being mean enough to make your oponent cry irl and quit the server does help your team. But it shouldn't be so easy, and so without any negative consequence.
The goodies on Varking (like goodies everywhere, I guess) are a pretty sad and imcompetent lot atm. They need to toughen up and play more as a team. But you knew this would be the case...Sullon Zek ring any bells?

Again, I don't see any crying, except perhaps your response.
Look, I am sorry that you are too incompetent to participate in actual PvP -- against the skill of another player -- , and have to have the computer play the game for you.
However, there are those of us that don't have to hide behind the computer, but rather relish playing against a non-computer gimped player.
Stop pretending to be a PvPer, and go play with the other computer gimped opponents on the Carebear servers.

Its quite simple really. The Problem isnt with retards killing crafters or diplos, the problem is how the NPC's react. Cities have GUARDS for a reason. If you attack someone who is crafting or diploing, you should have to deal with guards first.
In truth, by killing those crafting in cities without any resistance getting in, undermines Sigils vision of the game. They stated they want players to be able to pursue 3 different forms in the game, adventuring, crafting and diplo. They want cities to become social hubs, and let players choose the path they want to play.
This path is fine.. in pve. But not set up for pvp. To freely walk into anyplace and kill without penalty is not within Sigils plans. Of course it will be awhile before anyone does anything to this.
I just think griefers are the types that dont have the balls to fight players that have the possibility of killing them in return. Griefers have always been the small penis players who need to make up for it. Nothing ever changes.

Registered here specifically to comment on the horrible pvp situation as there are no official Sigil VG forums, hopefully Sigil reads Silky Venom.
The way pvp is set up is killing the pvp server game. While I am all for hard core pvp rule set I think its just stupid that a member of an opposing pvp team can come in to your city and kill you while the guards wave to them.
-The fact that we have campers who sit in the cities and kill people way below their level as soon as people spawn is moronic.
-The fact that people camp low level crafters in the cities is moronic.
I like playing with hard core pvp but when you are killed on log in you aren't exactly getting to play do you. It's getting pretty depressing as playing without pvp is not very fun but neither is being killed in you city in front of your guards as soon as you log in.
-Guards should attack any pvp from any race to any other race in any city.
-A race should have races that are friendly and hostile to them.
Example:
I am a dwarf.
*If I attack someone in my city the guards will come down on me.
*If I attack a dwarf in the wilderness thats ok.
*If I go to the elf city I am friendly (because we are on the same team).
*If I attack someone in the elf city the guards will come down on me.
*If I attack an elf in the wilderness thats ok.
*If I go to an orc city I am KoS (kill on sight) by the local npc's (because we are not on the same team).
*If I attack an orc in the wilderness thats ok.

if your not having fun on pvp server, make a character on a pve server until pvp is "fixed" to you. These fixes to pvp will NOT be done overnight. You may have 1-2 months before real pvp patches are released. Most people love pvp the way it is now, myself included, and I would hate for a vocal minority on a forum to screw it up for me. So make an alt on a pve, and come back to pvp once the issues your having on pvp are solved. Its just that simple.
*P.S. Sigil doesnt owe you anything. They gave us pvp, either play now or dont, so dont say they have to fix this or blah blah blah. Suck it up or move on.
P.P.S. This wasn't intended as a flame, but more of a "rome wasnt built in a day" sort of post. Don't get your hopes up just cause a few forum people agree with your ideas.

No offence but I am not interested in your solutions. I am giving sigil feedback, which they are normally interested in.

I do not expect things to run smooth for the next 6 months however if there is no feedback from the players fixing issues goes a lot slower.

No one expects it to be done in a day. As for a few forum members thats far from the truth as its more like everyone I know and talked to who play the game and a very common opinion on most forums. So I hope you don't get your hopes up as things will definitely change its only a matter of time.
On a more personal note if you think being killed in your city in front of your guards as soon as you spawn is ok, and very high levels camping lv 10 crafters in their cities is ok, then I seriously question you decision making skills and intelligence of your opinions. Sounds like you want to turn Vanguard in to Counter Strike.

Most people I run in to seem to share the dislike towards the current state of pvp. As for my demeanor its in the same tone as yours towards me. I didn't come here to argue with someone who's sole goal is to pk the weak and the small, so if you really didn't come here to attack my opinion then you can stop perusing my posts.
And no I am not saying vg is like an fps but the current mentality and atmosphere on the pvp servers resembles an fps, boiling down to a small group of frag bent losers getting off on trying to ruin everyones day.
Sorry, you can act as bad ass as you want and say how great pking helpless crafters and grey players is but you greatly over estimate your greatness. I am noticing its a recent trend with in a certain slice of the youth today to try to act bad ass on internet to make up for other short comings. But really I don't think its fair to be punishing the majority with problems of the minority.
Brad often talked about what he envisions for pvp in VG and the current state of things is far from what he intended, and I am certain things will change soon, so you can stop pretending you are a part of the majority and get off your bad ass hard core pvp'er mantle.

If you cant work togetehr on a pvp server, you shouldnt be on a pvp server. Just cause you cant handle getting killed, clearly means your not cut out for a pvp experience. A lot of these statements make me sick. Listen, there is a big difference between PvP, Ganking, and Griefing.
-PvP is balanced between similar levels, without a huge advantage.
-Ganking is when balanced PvP becomes unbalanced through a huge advantage in numbers with a group targeting people not seeking to PvP.
-Griefing is for trolls and children who cannot get satisfaction through anything except harassing people who are lower levels than they are. They live in their own world where they enjoy killing people that can't defend themselves, it's the same as a schoolyard bully picking on kids.
This isn't PvP, the only PvP i've seen is where people have the same or similar levels, or where groups are evenly matched. It isn't PvP when someone is killing people more than 3 levels below them.
Also, these people aren't looking to PvP at the moment, it might be a PvP server, but that doesn't mean you have to PvP 24/7. The enemy takes advantage of a loophole in the PvP/PvE system where they can enter enemy towns to do quests, but instead of doing the quests, they grief lower levels.
Crafters are also the bones of the gaming community in MMORPG's. If you don't have crafters, you don't have a game, and PvP is worth jack. Most likely, the crafters in Tanvu were crafting at the moment this schoolyard bully came in, and thus they not only lost the items they were crafting, but also wasted the crafting resources they were using.
Might I also mention that the crafters here cannot defend themselves when they are crafting, not only because they are crafting, and are lower levels, but also because they have no armor on while crafting, as well as no weapons.
No intelligent person uses the excuse that it's a PvP server. Grow up and realize that it isn't PvP when this happens. Eventually Sigil will probably change parts of PvP, unfortunately we will have to live with it until they tweak the PvP system.
Also, hopefully they can add a feature to be able to ban players, guilds, and factions from your player and guild structures. Only then will things improve. (unless Sigil changes parts of the PvP system)

Killing crafters of the order, is destroying their main sourc eof clothing, weaponry, transportation, etc. There is a HUGE purpose to killing crafters, so the rest of their side doesn't get decent gear, so shadow can overcome. NO matter how much you want to call it griefing, the smart players who craft remain at lvl 6 on an alt. Its just that simple, if you cant take getting killed, then too bad. If I am going thru khal to port to thestra for example, and I see a bunch of goodies in my way crafting, why not kill them? Slow them and their entire customers down too. Win-Win situation for us shadows.

And as for you STILL whining about pvp, do everyone a favor and reroll on pve. If you can't handle it stop crying about it!
lol Anarchy, you just proved my point, and welcome to my ignore list.
