...however, there's just one big hole in all this story and that is this:

For one character to see another character as "naked", BOTH the gamers would have to have the mod downloaded and installed in their game directory.

Modded clothes, modded armor, modded weapons, modded anything has to have the modded appearance and texture files installed with everyone who wants to see the 'changed' appearance. To anyone who doesn't have the mod installed himself, the modded clothes on the other person wont appear modded - they'll appear in their original format. Same goes for modded 'naked' appearances.

You cannot, i repeat, CANNOT see modded appearances on another person in the game unless you have the same mod installed as the other person. Client-side modding makes it literally impossible otherwise.

And you cannot server-side mod in MMORPGs, trust me.

The Dwarf stranger who "happened" to come upon this couple had the same 'naked mod' installed as the two people 'caught' by the Dwarf in the act.

Something smells, big time. It's not like every Tom, Dick and Harry runs around with an illegal naked mod installed in his game directory. Moding appearance TRE files is no joke either - very few people in the common gaming community can do it.

When he says naked, he means in their underclothes. Which is as naked as I've ever seen a character too. :D
I think it was just a comment on coming across two night elves disrobed except for underwear.

I actually did, mate. It seemed in the 2nd SS that both of the elves were naked (modded nudity). I thought that by the time the 3rd SS was taken they had put some clothes on. :eek: I jumped the gun i guess. You're right.

The bad (or good, depending on perspective) part of being active in an online modding community is coming across naked mods every once in a while. Almsot every MMORPG out there has it's naked mod out there...very much like the naked mods for Sims 2 which caused a ripple a while ago.

SWG, FFXI, Morrowind, NWN, EQ2, L2...all have their naked mods. And they are surprisingly...vivid as far as accuracy of portrayl goes, from the screenshots and opened TRE texture files i've seen on web pages.

Wouldn't have been surprised if there was one out for WOW too.

But i digress. You're right. The two elves seem to be in their underwear, cybering away to glory.

And they found it - their characters got put up on a site for all to see...with transcripts. :rolleyes:
