Weapon skills are actually going up at a decent rate since this last patch.

Thanks devs!

I have noticed no difference.

Still dismal skill up rates.

And Onyxia deep breaths more in WoW after the last VG patch too.

I personally think that skill-up rates should be slow. This rewards those players who make a conscious effort to work on all the lines equally as they level up. If you can just pick up a new weapon type for the first time at lvl 30 and get to max skill in just a few hours then who cares? Might as well not have any skill bars at all in this case...IMHO.

Lol, I just leveled from 16 to 17 grinding on level 16/17 mobs to get my 2 handed piercing skill up from 40 to 140... Not really fast (not to mention it took really long at start since all I saw was Miss, Miss, Miss, Miss, Miss, Miss, Miss

I just got a new 1 handed hammer. I soloed some to get up to about 40 skill, and then grouped for the rest of the night. My argo control was horrible but I was with guildies so I told them to suck it up while I'm skilling up.

At the end of the night I was maxed in hammer but only 160 in one handed blunt.

The skill up rate is fine. It takes work but it's not ridiculously slow.

I noticed my one-hand slashing go up ridiculously fast after the patch, as well.

However, another variable changed as well as the game being patched: mob level. I levelled 1Hslash from 1/140 to 60/140 or so on Urogug trolls (level 11-14) as a level 14, then to 100/140 on random mobs while questing.

Then I grouped with some friends, and, fighting against level 18 zombies, my short sword ZIPPED to 150/150 (Ding!!) in a little over an hour. 2H slashing from 133/150 to 150/150 in 20 minutes.

So perhaps mob level has a lot to do with it?

Hi, Chernobog.

Yeah, monster level does seem to make a huge difference. But it seems to cut both ways.

If the monster level is too high over my kick/weapon level, my gains are slow. If the monster level is a little over or at my level, the gains are decent. If the monster level is way below me, the gains are slow.

(side note, are you Chernobog from UO? If so, hi!, this is Arjuna. Nice to meet you either way.)
