How about some "Universal Signs" placed at each major town?
Once you place a bounty on someone, the cash is instantly removed from you and placed "in escrow".
All you gotta do is read the name and kill the player to collect your reward,(group of bounty hunters would be evenly split)
So if you're a rich crafter and someone is "grey" ganking you,you can hire some folks to return the favor.
Maybe you guys won't be for this kind of thing, but it could be fun.

this is an AMAZING idea, i am ALL for it. Would be great on FFA to keep the griefers in line

Eve Online has something similar, and it;s easily abused. You simply get an alt or a friend to kill you (even easier on a FFA server), and then take the reward. Basically you just get paid for griefing and ganking lowbies.

You make a good point.A system like this is flawed and easily abused.

Not only is something like this easily abused, it's totally unneccesary.
If you're successful enough of a crafter to have tons of money for bounties, then you should have no problem joining a good guild. A PvP server is not the place to be a solo, guildless, player. All the guilds need good, productive crafters, and should also protect their crafters. If this isn't happening, you're in the wrong guild.
When someone ganks me, I send the name out over guild chat. Then the hunt is on.
