I think its more from a desire to see more content for the level range and not be sitting at 50 wondering what to do. Some people dont raid so endgame is not their goal.

I have a novel idea... if it is painful... to level, but not TOO painful, then it can be a repeat experience. If it is ungodly slow and painful, you better make sure you see EVERYTHING with that 1 toon, because you'll never level a newb again.

Again, in all things, moderation.

I remember in EQ1 when I finally got my monk to 50 and then 60 (it took me a LONG time, as I actually have a life outside of gaming and I enjoy the content more than grinding like a rat on a treadmill) but it was so bad (when you added in epic questing) that I couldnt imagine much less justify wasting the hours of my actual life on another toon.
