I usually play a bard (lvl 23). I enjoy him, but I do feel he lacks a bit in the dps department. I've been thinking about rolling a defensive fighter, as I usually team with a shaman and they would seem like a good fit, likely better then my bard..
While I realize people dont generally recommend defensive fighters for dps and pvp survivability, after getting killed by a warrior in literally 1,3 seconds today, I am no longer convinced they are in such a bad place. (Please dont start about my lack of pvp skills for dying to a warrior, I do just fine.)
The DK seems like the obvious choice. Snare, shadowstep and the insta cast "harmtouch" thingy. Add in a few lifetaps and warrior-like dps they should be good yes?
The warrior seems like a sitting duck in pvp with no way of closing the gap to his ranged opponents. With his sick armor and hitpoint pool though, who besides healers can actually kite him successfully? Bards sure as hell cant..
The Paladin.. Has anyone even tried them in pvp? I think I've seen two total on my server.. (EU Frengrot.) They apparently have a ghetto-snare for closing the gap, and some crappy nukes.. (Do they ever get a ranged attack besides throwing hammers with 20 range?) Anyone know how his ranged dps compares to a warrior spamming his longbow attacks? The virtues seem like powerful pvp tools, how often can you use these on higher levels?
The main concern for melees obviously is the ridiculously overpowered crowd control spells in this game (root, mez, snares etc). And while I am 100% sure cc in pvp will be brutally beaten into a bloody pulp by the nerf bat in a not to distant patch, the lack of tools to avoid kiting is still the main concern for all these classes it seems.. I'd like input on how this works from the perspective of someone who's actually playing the class, preferably above lvl 20.. :)
I would greatly appreciate input on this. How do these classes compare in PVP? Specifically DPS wise. Is the Paladin DPS really that much lower then the other two? (Mind you, I dont care about PVE, I'm pretty sure all these classes will be fine for my pve needs.)
