This game could really use rested exp, with all the long travelling and all, here it would make sense but not in WOW since the grind is already easy without it
why is it so bad to want to make people happy, if you dont like leveling fast you can go kill yourself intentionally 20 times per level or they could give you a option to turn xp off so you can go "explore" some more spiders and bears...., some people like a kinda fast grind and if they want to do it they should be able to, sorry but telling people how they should be playing is not a valid reason not to have rested exp...

The answer is simple.
No.
This game should be like wow!
Fixed!

They better not. It is such a good change of pace to play a game that don't have any sort of bonus exp built in. In such games that do have it, it's like cheating yourself because you only put in half the effort. Games like this as well as EQ and FFXI, you earn what you put the effort in.
NO, HELL NO, AND FURTHERMORE, GOOD GOD NO.
I understand that some folks think it's about getting to level 50 and 'winning'. That's not what this is about, and will never be.
Take your time, you have factions to build, places to see, skills in your class to learn. The thing about 'end-game' if that's what you seek, is that it will always be there.

Why? Because you want to gain level faster? Is there any reason to support rested exp?

It will help people who have lives to fell like they are progressing, this is the number one reason people leave mmo's because they only play a hour or two per day and see their exp bar move in centimeter per day so they quit out of bordom
If sigil wants to keep customers they will add rested xp
Sigil needs to start stealing more idea's from WoW if they want to keep this boat from sinking
No thx.....let the game die 1st.

If Fellowships were in the game, then no.
But since we don't have a Fellowship system for friends to stay close, sure why not. Rested EXP is a winning feature.
Not sure why so many Vanbois are opposed to anything remotely similar to WoW. Got news for you kids, everything is gonna be like WoW cause it's making millions. Nothing wrong with a winner.
Except I hate WoW, but still... Rested XP is a nice feature. Make it an option so the hardcore punks can turn it off. Lol. Yeah right, they would never turn it off no matter how much screaming bloody murder they do here.

I know..it was called "Vitality" in EQ2 and amounted to crap EXP wise.

I've hated vitality/rested XP since the second I first heard about it. Why the hell would a developer penalize a player for playing the game? Boggles my mind, really. Because I play more I should get half the XP as somebody else? No thank you.

Listen Jonaku,
-Your not an end game player, probably never will be. Either enjoy the game casually for what it is...honestly there''s a ton to do. You can put together a group at 15 and have an 'end gamish' experience with good rvr if you pick your spots right. It also has area's which are a bit more your speed of throw a rock then flail maddly with a stick style. So much pent up anger. You need a woman...or a jar of lube and a sock =p Either or, would like to come to htese boards and talk about the game...and its overrun with all you brats...little young for ED to be settin in dont you think? ...Man...I miss Kyethra and the HH sometimes...though they sometimes seemed a bit overzealous its easy to understand given how much crap you all churn out.
....well ok...fell off the wagon and fed the trolls once...im good for a while...
-keep in touch with yourself!

as long as max rested xp is like 10% of your current level i dont care, but having a whole level come fast after being lazy and not play for a week is silly.
same goes with xp weekends, totally unnecessary way to make ppl happier.
i would support a new class that could offer situational boost to xp in current team, like a crat from AO. thats a fair way to boost xp.

This is not WoW, it was not intended to be WoW at all. Rested exp is, and sorry a horrid idea at best. Remember some of us left WoW for reasons such as "too easy". Also, why do you want to hit max level, start raiding and then get shit bored of the game you spent $$$ on? doesnt make sence.

It's people that have lives that don't care about leveling fast, or reaching max level. As long as there's something to do, they will stay. On the other hand, the powergamers are the ones that want to speed through everything.

Add rested exp or the game dies.
Add double-exp permanently or the game dies.
Remove death penalties or the game dies.
Fix my class or the game dies.
Remove all the bugs within 24 hours or the game dies.
Add teleporters or the game dies.
Add flying mounts at level 10 or the game dies.
Add 100.000 damage bazooka or the game dies.
I haven't seen the game die yet. I see a few spineless haters on the forum that proclaim to have quit *shrug* and some low expectation trolls that attack the game from every conceivable angle in order to dumb it down.
Think about how much loots and levels you would have gained if you had actually played and not hung around forum posting hate half the day.
If you can't succeed in a challenging game, you rather try to succeed on a forum where noone can really kill you, exclude you from groups or otherwise.
To each their own I guess.

Only way of rested XP that would suit Vanguard is like they did in WoW, but then without getting it in inn's.
So that you only get rested XP when you are not logged into the game.
I wouldn't mind this, as it will give casual players (people who work fulltime and have social life commitments and who also enjoy playing Vanguard) have a chance to progress a bit too and catch up with the server population.
I don't like the idea of getting rested XP in the game, because then you reward lazy players who only want easy mode gaming.
But offline rest XP build up. Don't see a real problem there to be honest.
And btw. EQ2 is a faster rest XP build up then WoW ;) It realy doesn't make WoW more easy mode or anything. As when I had been away for like a week or so .. I had hardly a level rest XP in WoW. So it's not that big deal to be honest.
Cheers

Thats not a feature you should throw in without knowing the full impact to the leveling curve.

IMO, just say NO to rested xp.
Next someone will ask for the first expansion to be named "The Second Crusade" or something...

He means the grind in WoW is easy enough already and that WoW wouldn't need it, but in Vanguard, because of the travel times, it would be sensible to have it.
I don't agree.
Rested exp doesn't encourage people to play. It takes away their motivation to play whenever they run out of rest exp. Playing in both WoW and EQ2 with rest exp, it's really common for people to go "Man, I'm out of vitality/rest exp. I'm gonna go play an alt or tradeskill."
Rather have the same rate of exp regardless. Having the rest exp just makes you spoiled in the sense of achieving levels, and only serves to make you frustrated when the golden hour of rest exp is spent.
I understand it from the "catch up to friends" point of view, but I'd much rather have a mentor system implemented to help friends level, than a rest exp system.
With mentoring, if you and your friends (who level slower than you) want to play together, you can do so. And if they are really your friends you'll take the time out to help them level instead of pressing on and expecting them to catch up to you with the aid of a crutch which the rest-exp system really is.

Rest exp isn't really fair.
A couple of weeks ago I thought the progression was a bit on the low side but last week I and a few friends started a dungeon crawler group with new characters. We started crawling at level 7. We have done 3 dungeons so far and are now 12 without any exping outside the crawls and no crawling of the same dungeon again when we have done it. We are already outleveling dungeons before we have time to hit them. This is worrying and rest exp would only make it worse.
I have another idea. Give us a button where we can turn of progress and let the earned exp be stored in a bank. Whenever we feel the need to gain levels to do the next dungeon we could take out exp from this bank and level. Total exp earned would be the same as before, we just decide when we want to advance. There could be a limit also, say max 1 level per realtime day gained from the bank.
