My bro in Iraq can't play the US servers with us. WTF. Why does Sigil try to divide us Americans? Do they have nothing but contempt for our military bros and sises who want to pwnz with us in Telon? Amirite?

I have a close friend who setup the internet cafe at the huge military base near Baghdad (I'll ask him the base name tomorrow). He told me the lag to play from there was too bad to even try. I will add that it's been a year since he's been there and maybe they've increased the bandwidth but not likely.
As a side story, he was a captain in a artillery unit. Upon arrival they reviewed his civilian background and found out he worked as a IT programmer (but not specifically networking), anyway they 'recruited' him for the base IT department (him and 2 or 3 other guys). Hi smission was to setup the internet cafe and provide computer techncial support. The cafe was a huge moral boost for the guys stationed there.

If Sigil cared about our military, they'd go to Baghdad and add bandwidth so our troops could play Vanguard!

Actually no, one of my brothers is an officer in charge of construction contracts and basically sits at a desk from 9 to 5 doing jack, he could easily play during work and at night if he wanted. My other brother was a helicopter pilot that flew missions daily, but they're only allowed to fly a certain amount per day then they're forced to be grounded, and could have easily played during that time. My point is that very few of our soldiers in Iraq are sitting in trenches 24/7 shooting at the enemy. In fact most, return to a base nightly (or daily) and sit around doing nothing for hours on end waiting until their next mission. In fact the most request things from both my brothers and their fellow soldiers is mp3s and movies and anything else that can help them pass the hours of tedium and downtime.
Of course this has nothing to do with the OP, which I actually thought was funny in that Stephen Colbert "why do you hate America" sorta way and think it's screwed up if in fact American in other countries, whether military or not, can't play on U.S. servers... maybe Vanguard is run by commies and hate America? Is Vanguard helping the terrorists win?!

While I think the OP's just has another case of the squirts, just wanted to mention that we actually had a raid leader tue in from Iraq every night in my last 2 years of EQ. Even had a few interesting evenings with him. Nothing like gettin a hole blown in the roof when your having a good Performer run ...lol Good kid that guy, he kept aggro on those add s =x
