Laughable at best, a Rogue has been created by Dev's with pure hatred in my eyes.

1. No stealth, despite the manual referring to them as and I quote "You gain the innate ability to render yourself virtually un-detectable" lmfao! virtually? un-detectable? Yes, maybe to stevie wonder haha

2. Pick pocket was nerfed on day one so we can only perform it on human NPC's. OMFG how lame, I'm lucky if I can even get it to work and when it does work, oh the joys of pocket lint, the wondeful rare cloth that all crafters seek! NOT

3. Poisons? no comment

Paying to play Beta? You bet

And for all the fan boys that say "Hey stick around and enjoy the ride, all MMORPG's are like this @ launch" Your pathetic all of you, by the time this game is even half of what it should and could of been, you'll all be level 50 and will be asking yourselves when does the buggy expansion pack come out?

Yeah, and to think we were almost equal to ranger dps for awhile, oh well thats getting nerfed, guess it was too overpowered to have half the utility of rangers and nearly as much dps, both at the same time.

I don't play a rogue, but your poisons/traps/spell scrolls (lol?) better be damn good, I have a rogue in my static group and he needs some luvin.

Well I'm close to quiting this beta program for good, I'm at level 28 and the fun has already gone. I joined a PVP and guess what I suck at PVP, maybe they should of added something to the manual like "Rogue's suck, don't use them if you wanna PVP" then I would of understood, how silly of me.

PS - Look at the Rogue's skills beyond the level you are currently at

Traps? Lmfao

I can only imagine what traps they have waiting for us haha

1. Cling film accross toilet seats
2. Yellow snow cones

Oh I bet the Dev's are cooking up a variety of useless crap for us as we speak.

So you should be able to "pickpocket" a snake? The nerf from beta to live kinda sucked but it only makes sense you can't pickpocket things without pockets.

While I play a monk who desperatly needs love too, I also have a friend who plays a rogue. Yeah they have issues, atleast you are getting worked on though. Can't comment on the dps nerf as I havent seen what it is yet.

I will say about the pickpocket thing though... they do need to add something. All I ever see my friend pickpocket is lint. Im like wtf is that for lol. He told me of some rare book that he can pickpocket that gives recipes for the lint or something. In 25 levels he has never seen one though and he pickpockets his ass off on every mob.

I think they should fix your poisons and such and I am sure they will. Possibly thats comming soon and will bring your dps back above rangers. Maby that is the reason for the nerf now? I also think they should add something like EQ1 did and give you guys the abilities to pick locks and disarm traps. Then place things like that all throughout dungeons. If they had say a locked door that required a rogue to pick, with a namer behind it that drops really good loot, people would be screaming for rogues.

I kind of disagree with the stealth thing though. My friend gets around pretty damn well with it. You can't expect to go anywhere and everywhere you want with it.

Agreed all classes need work, all of them have some broken abilities and many need tweaks. I have stated my views on Off fighters so won't comment on it more.

As for stealth it is better than it was, before you always failed to sneak by mobs 1 level higher 1 dots. 100% failure to sneak by them and the agro range was bigger. Now if I am real careful I can get by mobs a lvl or two higher than me sometimes. Mobs my level or lower is now easy to get by unless you run over them.

I would like to see that tweaked up so rogues can be good at CR for a group after a wipe. My big issues with stealth is speed, 50% is not fast enough to keep up with groups if they kill fast. That and dmg shields and aoe's breaking it constently. I mean since a noticible amount of our dps comes from stalking maxed we should be able to stay in it, reasonable keep up with a group and be able to actually stay in it as long as we don't have agro. I mean it makes no sense I can stab a mob in the back and i don't lose stealth but if he has a dmg shield I do? If they fixed those things I would be much happier with stealth.

I still have hope poisons will put our dps up and add enough utility to last us till devices, scrolls and hopefully open lock/remove traps is some day added.

I still think they need to make monks the top off tanks of any class in the game besides of course a true tank. It is a crucial role when you can't find a psi. Anyways guess we will see.

yes, but when you kill that snake and it drops a plate chest piece you wonder again, how on earth???

in that sense, it should be OK to PP any mob.

Truth. I always think its funny when people argue for realism in a fantasy, medieval computer game.

"Hey! Why is this pig hitting me on my flying griffon?! Pigs can't fly!!!!!!"

Yes it's a fantasy game, but some things are really just physically impossible.

Oh, but we can levitate and such you say. Well, from a "realistic fantasy" point of view, we can because we are sentient beings and employ magic.

A snake can't kick, because it has no legs to kick with. Nor does it have pockets. Nor is it sentient, and if it was, why would it magically create pockets? Or even less an invisible foot to kick with.

Yes, sometimes they drop a chestplate. Maybe they just ate the gnome that wore the chestplate, and when you cut it open, voila.

If you want funky pickpocketing, try playing EQ1. Not only did I pickpocket the head from a nightfall giant in Eastern Commonlands, I also pickpocketed the heart from Ambassador D'Vinn.

i dont mind much that i cannot PP any mobs, i was just referring to "So you should be able to "pickpocket" a snake?" comment.

btw, it doesn't really matter as i got 24 full stack of lint, bottles of spirit and other junk... so it pretty much been useless to bother with PP.

anyone prove me wrong plz.

I pickpocket alot with my swashy in EQ2.

You don't get alot each time you do it, but it adds up when you do it frequently. Cross-binding your keys so that your regular attack key has a secondary button that is the same key as your pickpocket helps making you pickpocket everytime you can.

Not sure if that works in VG though, not tried rogue here yet.

I don't think pickpocket is intended to be a main income type of skill at all though. Would be fun if you could pickpocket things of use though... Like gossip notes and whatnot for diplomats or something.

No, that doesn't work with the global cool-down on abilities unfortunately. You'll just get the notice that "You can't do that right now" message. Not to mention, to PP, you have to be stealthed, which is almost impossible to maintain post L20 since most mobs have a Damage Shield or AE. Gotta do it right after your opening damage or you will be out of luck usually.

Yes, I'm very saddened by the lack of appreciation for the rogue class. I am a rogue at heart, and I have played them constantly in every MMO I have played with that class available. I seem to always be drawn to the power of the rogue, I love specializing in one thing and giving up utility to be the best at what I do.

Sadly, the VG rogue has never struck me as a complete class, or even a class worthy of spending more time than it takes to create a level 1 and check out all of their abilities. I have a few RL friends that rolled rogues upon release, which was before the new abilities they had gotten (the first I had seen since way back in beta). Even still, they are below what they should be, and none of my friend's rogues are still active (even after the "fixes"). I feel for them, even though I knew beforehand they are incomplete, and probably won't be for a while. I was smart enough to just stick clear of the rogue class.

But that also makes me sad, because the rogue is my favorite class of all. I am /crying inside.

Have some heart developers, fix the rogue, the most broken class in the game in my opinion.

Don't give them more "utility" like they did in EQ1. Traps, mezzes, and poisons, all of which sucked and were completely useless. Except maybe the mezz for grabbing aggro if you’re tanking with your boxed character...

Just make them kings of melee DPS, as they are universally considered to be. Something they are not, at the moment.

Thats totally not the point. You are saying that some laws of physics should be followed while other's aren't. Snakes don't normally go out of their way to attack you, neither does 90% of the animal kingdom. That's not the case in MMORPGs; most animals are bloodthirsty. Maybe the river snake had bits of gold stuck in it's scales? Maybe that bear rolled around in some honey, and has coins stuck to it's fur? Maybe that giant eagle has jewelry around it's talons from an adventurer it just killed. Animals also don't have a habit of appearing out of thin air fully grown and able to use its variety of skills to rip you apart.

If you can justify a 2 foot snake swallowing a gnome whole, then you can justfy pickpocketing animals. But this is just all a matter of opinion anyway. Just like some people are perfectly fine with murdering someone, and to others it insults their sensibilites.

With that being said, Rogues do need some attention. I love rogues, and unfortunately my rig doesn't allow me to group with any kind of efficiency. Once I upgrade, I'll be all over the rogue. I love them, and hope they become a complete and functional class in the near future.
