With the new announcement (http://www.mpogd.com/news/?ID=2488) that EvE may start using Vivox to to use Voice Integration in the game, do you think that Sigil will ever consider something like this?
As a subscriber to a VOIP server for my guild, i could definately see some advantages and disadvantages to this. It would be nice to not have to worry about monthly fees but it would definately cost more per player/guild if you have a lot of members as VOIP servers are relatively cheap.
Also, being "locked in" for a year could go both ways. Players may be willing to stick around in game for longer OR they may not be willing to pay for it b/c of the restrictions.
Id be curious to see if Sigil has contemplated something like this, I know that they said they didnt have any plans for VOIP but with an outside company handling issues, it would be like having a feature without having to handle the issues with said feature.

Seems like a waste. I wouldn't want to pay $10 for something I get for free currently....

I play Eve Online (Excellent game) and I think it is something that people will probably not use in the long run. The reason being is that everyone uses either Teamspeak or Ventrillo. I would rather see the time and effort applied to something else (Space casino's) yay, but hey that's just me.
Regarding adding something like that to Vanguard in it's current state, NO WAY. In the future? nah, again I would rather see the time and effort going into something the players want.
/My two cents

I dont know why they would bother, I have run many VOIP solutions for many many years now, I dont really need them to do it for me? I understand its inclusion on XBOX for example, because Microsoft will not allow the use of any outside tools on that console or on THIER network. But here, in PC land, we can pretty much take care of these things ourselves . . . thank you very much (one of the things that keeps PC gaming superior in my opinion - freedom and choice).

I was not bringing this up to say that "we cant do this ourselves, do it for us!"
I was merely asking if this is something that Vanguard may add because it would be interesting. TBH I'm not even completely sure how it works but if you could start a PUG and 9/10 people had voice capability, the PUG would be that much more successful I believe.

Well your making the assumption that people want to use VOIP and are not able too? I have used FlashCom for the last few years, becuase all I need to do to get someoen in my VOIP room is give them a URL. Put it in a browser and boom you are in (if you have flash of course). My experience, some people wanted to, some didnt. Me making it that easy for them didnt really change whether they wanted to use it or not. I think the same would be true here.

i find Voice sollutions distracting most of the time. but i'm very oldschool. Even if they were to put it in i would use it at a bare minimum maybe in some pickup group where people just can't function without it for some reason but never seem to talke about whats being fought. The primary thing i see people using it for is going linkdead or crashing and if you integrate that into the game engine you loose that because when you crash you loose voice too.
i set up ventrillo for my guild and i'm the only one ever on it. other then people who just want to ask me a question while at work or something.
Time and money and resources could be better spent elsewhere
