Haven't seen it parsed out, but I would assume a bard does (Well more I would hope an offensive class would).

Of course if you are looking to dish out lots of damage and duel wield I'd have to say go Ranger or Rogue.

I heard ranger is more archery then melee and rogue is all about positioning and bleeds/poisons.

Granted, my bard isn't too high yet (only 16) but he still does pretty good dmg solo. But, as a bard, and I think this is a point quite a few bards seem to miss, is that we are intended, and really shine, as part of a grp.

The overall dps of the group as a whole increases noticeably as the result of a bard being present.

I haven't played a warrior, so I can't comment there. I just want you to be aware that you're not going to go solo a lot of 3-dot mobs as a bard. From what I've read, a ranger is the best offensive fighter dps. I'm not sure if that is just referring to ranged or if thats melee as well.

And, of course, everyone likes running faster than most mounts. I think the bard is the only one who can get his whole group to do that.

Utility FTW

A barbarian race Ranger would be the closest thing to a berserker we've got right now.
You can ignore your bow if you want - Rangers have the best strait up melee damage of any offensive fighter, better than the warrior too, along with good evasion and buffs/utility.

I'm really looking forward to the berserker.

I was under the impression that the berserker would shine more wielding two-handers.

Do rangers have a lot of melee skills though?

You should be Sorcerer, so you can burninate the countryside.

If you want a lot of melee skills you should go Warrior. Bard is all about the song composition. My bard at 16 has like 3 melee attacks, whereas I think my level 8 or so DK has more attacks. :p Took Warrior to ~15 in beta and I had just about 2 pages of hotkeys, about half of which were melee attacks. (However, they changed the way chains work since then so they may not have quite that many, but it will be a lot more than Bard.)

I have a 16 sorce but I have never enjoyed playing anything besides melee. However i hate getting stuck with a sword and board tanking. If Ranger can go on melee only and I would not have to use a bow then i would play it so can someone tell me if this is possible to do with a ranger?

Sure it's possible, but you'd be gimped due to ignoring a lot of your abilities.

That would be like taking Bard and not ever using songs, or playing a Cleric and never doing anything but healing. :p

Rangers are primarily melee.
