I don't know if this is the right forum for this.. but it would seem so.. :D
Anyhoo, the way i see it, so far the rewards for diplomacy are minute, we all know it, this may be to due to the fact that diplomacy isn't quite finished yet, or design, hard to say as of now :)
But the way i see it, one issue is that it lacks synergy, of course im not into crafting, but apparently decunstructing the gear is good for crafters, however there is no benefit to an adventurer who is also a diplomat currently, so i had a few suggestions for this issue.
1) Factions
I think that diplomacy should give access to rare and unusual factions, wich in turn give different rewards for both crafting/adventuring, the ability to gain access to wich comes through contacts who you meet during your diplomatic career, say for example you meet a powerful necromancer, who in turn introduces you to "the vengeful dead" who are very good at making things of bone..
2) Major politcal goals,
the equivalent to raiding within diplomacy, it would work like the lever system, however instead of 40 to get a buff, you would need about 3000, of course it doesn't go down as fast when no one is doing it.
But succeeding at a major political goal is hard, and will change a city drasticly, an example : a civil militia revolts against the government in khal, and the port authoritay is eliminated, this means new quests, new possibilitys for everyone who resides in the city.
3) Specialization guilds
Well, some classes have a problem, they dont have a way to specialize and make themselves different from other members of the same class. The way i see it, you can kill two birds with one stone :D
Yes, you can join specialization guilds, wich will earn you some special abilitys, and maybe even gear, made specially for you!
(although, i dont think it should all be dependent on diplmomacy, there should be a good amount of choices for everyone, and maybe only a few you need a high diplomat to achieve)
an example : THe church of Laegod(dont know much about the gods in vanguard, except galgann)
It primarily only accepts : Paladins, clerics, warriors, monks and disciples.
and when you reach max rank, you'd receive your "wings" wich can be a eye-candy item, or maybe even a minor speed buff, you can insert anything under the sun here.
4) Small political goals
Maybe, for example, a minor citys political party, depending on wich is in power, the exchange brokers tax raises or lowers, this also effects how much merchants sell for, and how much they pay when they buy etc.
Meaning there will be players who prefer party X and party Y and you need to be in the majority and put in work to earn your goals.
Well, thats about it for now, i don't know if anyone "important" reads this, but here it is anyhoo :D
P.S: is there any current info on prestige factions now? i got 50% khal, it turned a different color, making it look like i've earned something, but i dont seem to have earned anything..
