I play mostly solo, as I do not have the time to get it toghether with folks for long dungeon runs and such. I have mostly been doing missives and quests for big xp jumps, with a lot of grinding mixed in.
When getting a quest, why is there often such a disparity between your level, and the level required to solo the quest. I am talking about quests not marked as group in the dialogue, I dont accept those.
For instance, I am doing quests in the costal graveyard area at level 19. One requires me to kill 50 3 dot mobs, starting level 21. Now if they were 2 dots, no problem, I can take out things that level. 3 dots...will eat me alive. I can't reasonably expect to do this quest until I am 23 or so, which leaves it on my questlog way too long.
Why the disparity?

I think a lot of quests are just not marked as "small group" or "group" although they are really designed for being done by such. Not practical, but that's the way it is.

If that is the case, then about 85% of quests are group only, which really tells those of us that can't put in the time to form and run with groups, not to bother playing. Not to mention that groups over 3 people turn my client into a slideshow.
I like this game and hope this is not really the case in the near future. Leveling is extremely hard to begin with in VG. Making everything group dependant means I can't really continue to sub.

Just because you are able to accept a solo quest doesn't mean it's soloable at your current level. You can accept quests that are up quite a few levels above you (these should be red in your journal). Assuming you're talking about the quest to kill the ghosts, then I believe that's a level 23 quest, at which level you should be able to solo them w/o too much problem (depending on your class).

At 19 you're pretty low for Coastal Graveyard - I'd suggest heading to Lakeview for those quests and then Misthaven then back to Adyinns Watch.
