Ok so I'm running towards Strandan (Seawatch Cove) in Qalia and I run into a boat that I can't get off ... I finally levitate and summon a mount, so I can get off the damn boat...

About 30m later, I zone to River Palace except that my screen is all black. I totally log out, and reboot my computer. I log back in and if you can where then you're psychic cause I would have had to go about ~ guesses down the list to come up with the answer.

Yes I logged in ON the boat and it was at the Tree of Sorrows zone in THESTRA...

Anyone guess the correct answer ? And do you know if the Cubs will win the World Series this year?

Might not be a bug.

Here's why:


Throughout your play time your character information gets saved to the server... usually about every 2 mins. So that way if you crash or something, you'll come back at your last "save" point sometimes.

It's tricky, but this is how it goes. Sometimes you login where you crashed, sometimes you login where your char was last "saved".

So, your last save must have been on the boat, and then you crashed before the next save so the server didn't know exactly where you were when you logged back in, so it reverted to the save.

That's how I've known it to work in every MMO I've played... I have no solid evidence though, except for the fact that it's happened to me numerous times over the past decade. o.0

EDIT: Just read your post again... sorry, I misread. What I said above doesn't really apply to you. My bad. It does sound like a bug then. Just be sure to report it please. ;)

Personally I think bug reporting in-game is a waste of pixels due to the thousands of bugs in the line, so I hope someone with the right connections reads this post.

It would help if I knew what the hell you were talking about. And you pose no question for which you are trying to get an answer.

- You got stuck on a boat
- You lev and ride a mount to get off
- You chunk
- You get black screen of death
- You cold boot and are back on the boat, but in Thestra

...

to avoid this bug did you know that if you rechunk the black screen of death will go away? Makes it so you dont need to relog.

In game reporting takes 2 minutes. It's not a difficult thing to do...

Give me a good reason why NOT to do it?

Yeah.. it may be in a line, but at least it's been reported so the devs can't say "they didn't know"
