Actually for me, playing LoTR would be as bad (if not worse) than playing Vanguard SoH.

I mean both are playable, and ok for a game, but a waste of my time because they don't provide real entertainment. Just a series of tasks until you reach whatever goal you set for yourself.... No real adventure or fun along the way, at least by my standard.

I'l wait for a game more along the lines of what UO was, Darkfall.

That is... if it is the same style as UO of old was. I could be waiting for another carebear game for all I know, but I don't think so, from what I've seen so far.

We can be called Volcano Fodder, too.

Bye. You sorry excuse for a blighted cancer on the lip of wit and protest. :)

bah don't fall for the hype, we all saw what happened with this game. Darkfall will never come out.

Having seen it in a semi-complete state last year, I can assure you it will. Whether it's going to be any good, I can't say.

Aye... that's the question that is prominent in my mind.

I mean I really thought Sigil was going to make a game that had some potential... "really did"

I'm sure they and others feel it does... But we have seen classic symptoms of an unhealthy game, and feeble attempts to attract and hold subscribers early on.

I saw what the game was way back in beta, and now just watch the Vanboi's fall off one by one ever so slowly into oblivion (as I too was a Vanboi).

I'm not knocking Vanguard for everyone, because it falls right into some player categories, and it is a working game that is playable... but demanding.

Nope... just hoping for Darkfall to meet my expectations of mechanics over graphics, and a realisitic ruleset over convenience and compromise.
That and not a level system which I feel is character restricting in concept.

A game about player freedom once again. some wild west activity, with real excitement and emotions in play. Where when you are in this game you are really in it. Not just going through motions.

My feeling is this....

Even "if" Darkfall never releases... Just to be there and show support for this supposed "vaporware" gets attention, tells developers that this style of game has a following. Just by voting with your presence and activity on the forum has some meaning, and can make this style game more a reality than a wish or theory.

Voting with dollars is buying crap and getting more crap as a result.
If we buy quality, that puts the onus on developers to be more thoughtful with their products and design... thanks but no thanks Vanguard.
