You guys talked so much on the website about this games mechanics, but all I see is trash. Basic things like recalling and not getting a temp invuln so you can just die to wheoevers there while you load is more third rate mechanics from a company run by EQ garbage ;[

Recalling is not a temporary invulnerability. It's a means of transportation to a bind point on a pvp server. However, if some guy is griefing low levels, and I kill him, he releases to an altar (most likely). I then just use my teleport/evac (not all that different from recall) to catch up to him, watch him, while waiting to see if he leaves (at which point I leave) or continues to waste level 7 crafters (at which point I open fire) lol. Recall is an advantage like evac. It was never meant to be an afk button with a nice invulnerability buff to tide you over till you got back to the keyboard.

However, on your defense, (the trash statement set me off for a second ;p but I'm better now) you are referring specifically to a loading issue. That part can't be helped and I totally feel your pain there :( My last computer was a free pvp kill every time I hit a zone chunk. Now I fly through them, my game runs fantastic with 20-30 folks doing their pvp stuff all over the place (Southwatch for example). I can only say you might want to make sure you have a good internet connection, 2 gigs of ram, maybe a duo core 4600 + amd processor, and if you want the better graphics make sure you can afford a graphics card that isn't just 512 or whatnot, or has a shiny future robot picture on it with a kung fu grip attachment (ignore what's advertised on the box - most of it is "trash") but has 20+ pixel pipelines (mine sadly has 12 on the GForce 7600GS but hey, I don't get pvp lag). So, in short:

Check your internet (go for Cable Modem if possible)
Check your computer's RAM (go for 2 gigs MINIMALLY) I believe AGP boards expand to 3 gigs tops and SLI capable boards go up to 4 + (I'm no guru but I know what's working for me).
Check the amount of pixel pipelines your graphics card is capable of (mine only has/supports 12 which means my card is utter garbage). You want 20+.
I prefer AMD duo core to anything else but that's just me. Try to go for high processing.

Try not to be disheartened...sadly money is the issue for this stuff - and VGSOH is far from optimized - unlike for example Lord of the Rings Online which is unbelievably stable :(

Honesly, I understand your frustration, but that "trash" as you call it that many of us are talking about, is stuff that needs to be discussed. While I agree that there are many smaller game mechanics issues, I am more than confident that its the big complex ones (siege warfare for example) that will have to be debated and argued out at the 'ol Sigil office. My posts target that audience. Also, and sadly through no fault of your own, you are probably having a hardware issue. Nothing money can't fix (which is something I have very little of myself).

Please continue to voice your opinions as well :) Offer some suggestions instead of just venting though. Personally, I do both.

/salute and good luck friend

I agree with Scorbane.

Recalling is like a cop going through a door. You don't know whats on the other side. Adding an invulnerability effect would actually allow griefers more tools to avoid retribution.

On Tharridion getting another player to log is as close as you get to "winning."

Making someone deguild is nice too.

Just so I don't sound like an RPK ass, my guild has some running fights with a few other guilds. We only camp guilds who camp our crafters. Often we can change their behavior this way (often in the form of players within the other guild pressurring the other players who are engaging in crafter ganking to stop because the rest fo the guild is paying the price), if not we get a bunch of good fights and some bad ones too.

Being able to pursue a player beyond a single death is an essential element of FFA. Hence no invulnerability when recalling.

Wouldn't it be cool if you had the strength to stop playing?

Now make sure to pay your subscription fee on time, and hit any VG site a couple hundred times a month; helps us get more content in both the game and the fan sites.

You rock, thanks for your contribution!

How about posting some references that show "you guys" talking about these game mechanics, aka "trash" that you are rambling on about.

The only thing i could get out of your message is, "WHAAA!! I just died after I recalled, this game sucks!" Everything else was pretty much gibberish.

Dont recall run.... Dont evac, walk the 5 feet to turn in your missive... Any rules or limitations added make more room for exploitation. Play EQ2 and you will get a face full of what I am talking about.
