Just logged on now after the patch. First thing that happens is my bud, a lvl 43 caster, gets one-shot by a necro pet.

Sundering Fist hits for 3623 damage.

We all know this attack is usually instantly followed by another attack that deals roughly half that damage, if anyone by some freak chance should manage to survive the first hit.

Good job Sigil. Good job.

what level was the attacker, if they were level 50 it should be expected to get 1 shotted...

......and if the necro was using the pet buff and what quality the graft actually has (considering the "super" grafts are very difficult to find)......quite important to know before all the whining starts all over again.

Leave the necro's alone!

Keep your eyes on the real threats, like Paladins with a bow or rangers in melee!

The necro was lvl 50. I'm opposed to one-shotting people. Even on lvl 50.

Well if he was level 50 using the best grafts with his best abilites on a cloth caster 7 levels lower that him that's fair enough IMO.

I'd imagine if it was a level 50 sorcerer attacking you with his best abilities combined with instant crit etc it would be the same result. As it would be with dk's, druids, and other high dps classes.

Do i agree with that? No. But It's not just necro's this time round.

Sorcs do good damage, but for now (I'm still just lvl 35) they cannot come close to the burst dmg of a necro pet or druid. I never one-shot anyone, yet I get one-shotted frequently by the two mentioned classes (and DKs). Granted: This would be much less of a problem if they actually fixed the sorc ward line of spells so they worked properly in pvp.

You should provide more info and testing.

Was it a crit? (just check th logs)

And you should fight them a few times, just bank your coin first.

I haven't faced a necro since patch but all I see so far is anecdotal evidence from both sides. The pets needed to be nerfed in PvP and hopefully they eventually get the damage to a reasonable level.

Unfortuantely the necros I talk with mostly lie. Only one gave me an in depth scoop of the how and why.

Anyways, if I get the chance I'll duel some and find out the changes first hand. Or someone can save me and do that themselves and post. Come on, be a hero

It was not a crit.

I don't understand. Why is pvp turning into one shot kill, and getting the jump on anyone?

There is no skill in that, whether it be one class or another. (except maybe finding the fight)

I didn't notice any reduction in pet damage. Was one shotted twice last night with sundering fist. Level 44 necro on 39 druid.(no i don't know the grafts, and non crit.. but hey!! we can all use levi bug right??!)

Don't think that I like the changes to starfall either. I only tested it once last night in pvp, (against lower char). It is probably too powerful, lower the damage in PvP and or give it a recast cooldown 20 s.

How much fun are the one shot nuke wars going to be? especially with release to altar?

Slow pvp down abit so that you actually use your class / skill, not just some 1 button insta nuke.

I'll take my lumps if other classes take theirs.

Skills 44+ ramp up violently. Its hard to tell sometimes. With end game gear on top of that there are some big balance issues.

And yes Necro pets can still on shot people almost as easy as before.

Again they built this game kinda faulty, i dont understand why 90% of all abilities are INSTANT? whats the point of that, also you can move while casting. The PvP phase is almost as fast as wow.

What i really loved about EQ1 PVP was the fact that it required ALOT of tactics and skill, cause every fight was long enough to let you actually use your tactics and think (not only run in and burst dps)

The fact that meelees had to PLAN their attack, not being able to have auto attack on was a part that made it alot more fun, also casters were easly interupted from casting spells.

I remember epic battles in EQ1 Pre Luclin that lasted for 2 hours between a few guilds, and there were no bindrushing involved, now that is fun pvp that we will never see happen again.

I did a little testing and it seems that basic pet attacks seem lower in damage but everything else seems the same. Since most of the pet big hits are due to things beyond basic damage, the necro pets still hit for way way too much.

And I agree, PvP damage ramps up big time at higher levels. This is not good IMO.

Sundering grafts ar rare. I just found the lvl 40 one a week ago and it was server first.

in any PVP in any game if you are getting attacked by someone 7+ levels then you you should expect to get killed rather quickly...

I don't get it how if your level 35 and a level 50 1-2shots you, you cry overpowered. Last night I got jumped by 6 level 35s and I pretty much just aoe'd them a couple times and used my pet and they were all dead. Recieved multiple tells of how I am overpowered. Its not overpowered its called way out of your level range.

If you are level 40, think of a level 50 in pvp as trying to fight a level 50 5 dot mob. They are going to 1 shot you and so are we.

Adding rogues to the list. Today I was 1-shot by an equal lvl rogue. He did 2400dmg to me in one hit from stealth. I have 1950 hp.

I have the same experience. My lvl 46 DK got 2 shotted by abomination (2,5k and 3,5k hits). After that I gave up and several hours later tried a fight with sorcerer. When I was about to win he slept me, ate to full and killed me without a problem.
I understand that devs don't have time for PvP balance atm but I'd also welcome some reply that some big PvP balancing wiill come in upcoming months.

Just a tip: Use your WoD to insta-kill him.

Nice try but WoD will never insta-kill anyone.

This statement is completely false. WoD one-shots clothies on a regular basis. This has happened to me several times from DKs around my own level. (I'm a 36 sorc.) Granted the druid nuke is even more absurd but nevertheless.

Try playing a DK first. The damage from WoD was great on low levels but as ppl level up and get more hps you won't one-hit anyone unless it is an epic/legendary hit (and I am glad for it, PvP should not be about one/two-hitting ppl). My regular WoD hits in PvP are for 1k-2k (2k for crits). If I am lucky it will do slightly over 50% of target's hitpoints.

While the DK nuke is not quite as bad as the other classes I mentioned, it really is grossly overpowered in its current form. As a lvl 36 caster with all heroic gear I have ~2k hp. I've been nuked several times for more then said amount of hp from various DKs. As in, one-shotting. From a plate wearing tanks "nuke".

I have no problem one shotting the best geared casters on the server with my Drk.

No Bs... ITs what all you use with it:)

I would assume that int would affect the DK WoD? Might be what the difference is.

Anyways, the DPS is going through the roof. Well, it is through theroof and now is going ove rthe moon as I continue my trek to 50.

I think most of us like fights to last a minute or more. It is just more fun when you get to use all of your abilities. These kind of fights are pretty rare in VG.
