I ask this question specifically for crafting. If you don't mind, please join the discussion at this Vanguard Crafters (http://www.vanguardcrafters.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=297) thread and let us know how to shape the site to be appropriate for most of you.

Now we know we can't please everyone. And it's no secret that this is a tough crowd. So instead of making our best guess, we would like your constructive input to help us tailor the site to the communities' taste. Also, you may want to check out the link from the left menu that talks about our site's values. Obviously, that has to be factored into the design and decisions.

We're getting closer to the game being live every day. Please help us get you what you want and need.

Thanks!

Genda

You guys are doing a great job as it is. :p

You may get some ideas from these sites:

EQ Traders (http://www.eqtraders.com/articles/news_page.php)

SWG Craft (http://swgcraft.com/home.php)

I like "how to" articles, recipe lists, calculators, and resource locaters myself. But of course none of that is publically available now because of the NDA.

Ah, SWG Craft. What a great site back in the day. I gave up on crafting fairly early on, but when I was weaponsmithing SWG Craft was invaluable. I hope Vanguard Crafters is able to offer a similar breakdown of recipes and formulae as info becomes available - and since Vanguard's crafting system will involve a lot more unknowns than SWG's (lots of recipes from sources other than trainers, experimentation to discover new recipes, etc.), having a place to consolidate information and solve problems will be far more important.

What exactly is the SGO line for sites that hold detailed quest spoilers and detailed crafting information? A site devoted to crafting would ideally be a good place for players to go to find out about recipes and resources and such, but you wouldn't want to go against how SGO wants to community to grow.

As a community, is that what we want anyway? Detailed crafting information removing the mystique of it all.

Ideally the crafting system would be robust enough to allow the community to share crafting information (e.g. information regarding recipes over a particular site) without compromising the crafting system (such as leading to everyone having perfect information allowing everyone to make the best items).
