If I recall there is no official word/estimate anymore.
They were trying to get Bese in by launch, but that didn't happen. I think, if I recall correctly, they mentioned Inq wasn't going to happen till the first expansion. So my guess would be expansion 1 is the current estimate on both now.

First they gotta get the many classes they have NOW working right before tackling the hassle of adding 2 new classes and having to THEN tweak them around. :p

I keep hearing about an Inquisitor class. In EQ2, they were a subclass of a cleric. Are they suppose to be another healer class here? I had heard something about another tank.

Yeah psion/tank is what they are.

Inqusitor - Tank, supposed to be a magekiller with psionics. Not really shure what they are, because actually Dread Knight with Shadowstep is already like the perfect magekiller, isnt he ?
Berserker - Melee DD, supposed to deal the more damage, the lower his hp. I really wonder how that is going to work out, though. Anyway that might be the coming Melee Damage King. Thats why I would love to have this class out. :D
I read a developer comment somewhere (dont ask me where now) that Inquisitor was going to be implemented first because there are only 3 current tanks.
But what does it matter, the game really only has 4 classes anyways (tank, offensive meele, offensive caster, and healer). They will just slap the same powers on the Inquisitor that the other tanks already have, but call them something new and psionisist sounding like "mess with their mind" (agro generator spam key) or "cause headache" (ranged dps) etc. etc. etc.

Sigh. Then I'll have to decide what to delete to try them out. Gads this 8 character rule is driving me nuts.

will probably be a while on both. but when they come in I am sure it will be worth the wait.
I do remember that with berserker there was a problem with the damage increasing as hp got low. once it got really low damage went basically infinite
some math errors there hehe

If they're wise, they'll hold on the Inquisitor until the expansion.
Fix what's wrong now, add some content, and then relaunch with the expansion and the Inquisitor class - bringing in a fresh crop of newbs and tanks. : )

Before I shell out the extra money for 4 slots, I'd buy a second account. :) But ATM, I'm only supposed to keep one game subscription active. Parents and their caring about you, what a rotten thing. :D
Who knows? If I act nice and sweet on the boards, maybe I can convince Brad to let everyone have a couple extra slots when the new classes finally arrive. :D :) :D :pirate: :)

They were slated to come after release. It's after release, but no time was given so it could be anytime after release.
Would you really want them to bring forth more classes with as many bugs and issues are currently present in regards to the current lineup?

My wife plays EQ2 religiously so I just use the station pass thing for that. The 12 slots are just a bonus. And back on topic......The Inquisitor sounds interesting. Hope it gets made one day!

It will likely get a higher priority than Bese, since there are currently only 3 tanks available and every other class has 4 types.

"Cause Headache" is hilarious.

Yeah, well - thats the question.
The three tanks are all tanks. All of them can work as main tank. So how important is a fourth variant of that ?
The four healers are all healers. All of them can be group main healer. Very different to play, and maybe Disciple is way behind atm, but all really healers.
The four mages are all mages. All of them do pretty good dps, albeit in different ways.
But the four melee offensive fighters ?
- Ranger: yes
- Rogue: yes, but only in group. Otherwise screwed
- Monk: hard to see what that class is really. No utility, no damage, so what ? Is this class ever going to get any real role at all ?
- Bard: CC and groupbuffs - definitely SUPPORTER and NOT dps
So, in practice, we actually have two melee offensive fighters. One class that nobody knows about what its for, and one class that is very good, but only in a group designed for it (many rangers).

Yeah, Inquisitor over berzerker for me too. I'd have to kill my monk for it, though. Which is sad, because most of the gear on the monk would be wasted on an inquisitor, I suspect.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
VG has so many races and classes, I don't need more -not that I mind-. But I would love to see more character diversity within each class. Meaning for example that I don't want all paladins to be the same with differences only in their attribute points.

Then VG will be a perfect EQ2 clone.
Only with no achievement points.

Bit of a side point, but you obviously haven’t played Bard.
Sure, an all out damage based offensive class would be good, but from what I recall in beta they have a much higher priority in getting 4 options for each grouping over getting Bese in.

I have been arguing for that since beta back in August. I suggested several systems (the one I felt would have the biggest impact was talent trees) in order to get some character specalization / customization in the game. Sigil seemed uninterested in doing that.
While it makes sense to offer more core classes vs. a sub-classing structure from a balance sense, it really doesn’t make much sense from a player feeling sense. I really hate the feeling that no matter what class/race combination I play I’ll have like 99.9% of the exact same abilities/spells/skills as someone else of my class.
I don't know... this is one of those old-school aspects that I just don't think people are interested in anymore.

Yes, more customizability and options would be cool. ATM you only can do that through items, and for some classes through specializations (Shaman can take Bear/Wolf/Phoenix totem, Monk can follow different paths, Necromancer can become lich or shadow ...).
