Since my thread was merged unneedingly into the VG sucks thread when it was not called for, I guess I will have to remake it and reclarrify a little bit.
This Poll is not for people who are still enjoying the game.
This is not a VG sucks thread, this is not a crying waaah thread. It's a simple information gathering that sigil can use (sigil is not going to read the VG sucks thread anyways, so this needs to be remade)
This poll is meant to be constructive information request on where most people who are not logging in as much lately started to get bored.
It is meant to show where the game needs most work on. If you are enjoying the game, move on, please stop trolling and do not reply.
Here I am, 38, Started getting very bored at 35 as the 35+ content just isnt 'fun'.
1-35 I had a blast, Vault of Heroes, Hilsbury Manor, CIS (what little I did), ROTK was ok but a lil bland, and then my favorite, Pantheon of the ancients.
All well designed content etc, but come 35? It got boring to me.
the new Xen dungeon sounds like it may be well designed, but full of bugs, and I got too bored before I could even get to it.
So poll: where did the game get boring to you and started to make you not want to login?
Maybe sigil can use this poll to find out where they really need to work on to keep people pushing forward, as not having content at 50 is one thing, you didn't have to rush, but not having content when you have not rushed at midish levels is not a good thing.

I had a great time til right around lvl 28. I guess I should have siad ~30, but I accidently hit ~25....oh well.
The high 20's started giving me problems on both my Cleric and my crafter (carpenter). As an adventurer, it just seemed like I was doing the same thing I had done a thousand times before in other games, but without the storyline of fun factor. I'm not even sure how to describe why I did it in 7 games before and never got tired of repeating this process, something was just missing here and by around 30 it starts to get very apparent.
For crafting, I enjoyed it at first, but I grew frustrated by either spending insane amounts of time making real items for people (boats take forever!), even though making itmes is what I wish to do, and the need to continue leveling so I could play the game, discover new recepies and quests and get to make the caravels as well. Jsut grinding W/o's is boring, and does not have the excitement of making real items and playing the market. So I never made it to caravels. First time in a game that had crafting that I quit so early. I jsut didn't feel productive.
These are just Imho. Hope it helps Sigil in their upcomming redesign, but at the same time, they just need to do what they think needs doing.
Errr you dont work for Sigil and they already would have this information they arnt stupid its called Stats they can see how many people loged in when where how many activated their accounts how many stoped activating their account. They can see where you made money when you made it what mobs you killed what quests you did.
This is a stupid Post its one sided and negative !! ...

Trengal keep really started to bore me. It was just so monotonous. I love plenty of the other dungeons but TK just sucks the will to play out of me. I gave up adventuring for awhile and did a bit of crafting and diplomacy but they didnt hold my interest for very long.
Now I have less time to play and I'm finding the hassle of finding a group takes up too much time if I want to adventure. I realize I screwed up in rolling a rogue, should have taken something more soloable but the class fit the character I had in mind.
I think I'm finding Vanguard is too much of a time commitment for me to enjoy.

If anything, move it to off topic, even though it doesn't belong there. It belongs here... Not in the VG sucks thread, not in the im leaving thread, because its neither.

35+ started to get real boring IMO, dragons backbone? was pretty sweet though, at least for a while...then it was all downhill IMO. Grind Grind Grind. Doesn't help that i'm a rakuur shaman and post 40 for us is a huge slap in the face.
Some missives for every lvl would be nice IMO, at least guildies who don't have much time can get together for a quick bash.

There is no "I'm not bored yet" option, so I can't vote on it.
Your poll is very one sided, since you are suggesting that everyone is bored of Vanguard, and it's only a matter of which level we got bored at.
Add a "Not bored yet" option to your poll, otherwise, yes, it does come off as a "Vanguard Sucks, Whaaa" thread...

I am no friend of factiongrinding to get quests.
And it started at lvl 30 (for those who wanted to do the grind) in Wardship.
Maybe this "forced grinding" pre 50 gives VG such a bad name or so many people start getting bored cause of the kill these 200mobs and the next kill 200 mobs...just need 2k faction more etc etc..
I just skipped every factiongrind in the game cause I didn't like it. Maybe it is ok in the endgame, but to start grinds at 30ish already is not the way to go. At least not for me

Well my main problem with Vanguard is currently:
- No party ? You cant enter many areas.
- You got party ? You rocketlevel.
I only have 8 character slots, and yesterday I made a whole level in about 5 hours ! Jumped from 35.2 to 36.2 in such a short time. Even died 2-3 times, but I was always raised afterwards. With such an extreme leveling speed, I dont see how I can play for years with only 8 character slots.
Well, one can always hope that one gets more levels, and more character slots, when the game continues.

And in response to http://www.silkyvenom.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20120
A lot of people get bored around level 15 or so and I was thinking about why that is.
The game becomes too easy.
Up until level 15 or so, you are struggling to get good equipment, your mount, bags and your core skills. Once you get all those things, Vanguard becomes so easy that it's boring. Before my shammy got his bear, the game was somewhat challenging. After my shammy got his bear, Vanguard became very, very easy. I suspect other classes have a similar pattern.
Here is how this can be fixed.
1. Expand mob aggro radius. My toon can pass within arm's length of mobs oftentimes.
2. Runners. When a mob hits half health, it should run. And when it runs it should aggro everything it touches.
3. Linking. Two mobs are guarding a gate. I can pull one at a time. No way this should happen. More mobs need to be linked.
4. Patrols. There should be many patrolling mobs.
Vanguard does some of this, but not enough. Typically, vanguard increases difficulty by increasing mob health. This makes combat boring. My shammy can solo 4 dots with his bear, but it takes forever. I have literally left my pc and made a cup of coffee during combat.
WoW has 8 million players in part due to keeping the game challenging. WoW has lots of runners, linked mobs, patrols and so on. Many of you are familiar with the Foundry in the Deadmines. That encounter is so challenging just because of how the mobs are scripted. You get a goblin down to half health, he'll run and get his buddies. And once you've cleared the Foundry? You think you are safe? You engage some new mobs? Sucker! You are hit with a patrol from behind.
A friggin bear shammy? Whose bright idea was it to give a WoW priest a WoW hunter's pet? Shammys are main healers! Sounds fun on paper, but it's boring to play.
Vanguard gets boring because the devs didn't put enough thought into encounters and toons are too powerful. Creating challenging encounters takes a lot of planning and creativity. It's all a delicate balancing act.
2. Runners. When a mob hits half health, it should run. And when it runs it should aggro everything it touches.
This would be insanely annoying and tedius, not challenging.
3. Linking. Two mobs are guarding a gate. I can pull one at a time. No way this should happen. More mobs need to be linked.
Almost every mob links in a little bit higher levels, but you can simply lull them to make them not link. Asking to make things link is sort of asking to remove lull from the game.

The game doesn't get boring, once again, any poll that doesn't include "never" isn't a valid poll.
This poll has completely no merit.
A better title would be "If you got bored with VG, when did it happen?" and eliminate the level 5 option and put "never" in its place.
I recommend that everyone corrupt the data of this poll by selecting level 50... or, ignore it entirely.

a poll is not worth anything if there is no balance. A poll is about statistics. Basically, all you're poll is saying is that " Out of X number of people polled, 100% got bored!"

If the question was "are you bored", then yes you would be correct, however that is not the question, and that is exactly the question you guys are asking me to turn this into, and I dont care to ask that question as it is redundant.
My question is "Out of the people who are bored, where did you get bored at?"
The statistics of this poll is to find the level range people get bored at the most, NOT to find out if people are bored or not.
If you want to find out if people are bored or not, then please... make a new poll :/

From http://www.silkyvenom.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20120 :
1. Expand mob aggro radius. My toon can pass within arm's length of mobs oftentimes. Thats when the mobs are very much below your own level. So if they attack it would be annoying and not make the game more exciting.
2. Runners. When a mob hits half health, it should run. And when it runs it should aggro everything it touches. Yeah thats a great idea - so classes that do low damage and cannot root will be unable to kill any mob, ever. And when they try, they will be killed everytime. I bet people will love you for that very idea. Especially solo players.
3. Linking. Two mobs are guarding a gate. I can pull one at a time. No way this should happen. More mobs need to be linked. They often are, actually.
4. Patrols. There should be many patrolling mobs. There are enough of them them, already. Getting killed on a regular basis because of something you cant change will NOT make the game more interesting.

For everyone else asking for it to be moved...
It is probably because your feelings are hurt... well I think the problem is you know you are playing a piece of shit game, and now someone is reminding you that you are wasting away playing a piece of shit game... So the originally poster soured your "reality escape" of Vanguard, which is probably the shittiest MMO made in quite some time, and you flame him. Keep up the good work!
Been about 3 months since I checked these boards, and its the same shit, buggy game vanboi's relentlessly flame. Stubborn Ignorance would be the best way to describe those response.

What is the number one reason for toon death in WoW?
Adds.
Where do these adds come from?
Patrols, runners, large aggro radii.
In VG, sometimes I feel as though I'm walking through a zoo.

Late 30s, early 40s was when content started getting too sparse, though it improves almost every patch. I would say 30+ is where the most work is needed and more is needed the higher you get from what I have seen so far.
As for getting bored, I haven't been bored yet, I really like the game, but I have been playing less because I am trying to not get to 50 before the raid content is put into the game. I have tried a few other MMOs and while they have much more polish than Vanguard, they are lacking the general depth of this game and most important to me is Vanguard's combat and grouping are vastly superior to any MMO I have played. This game needs a lot of work, but the core of this game is so much better than others, they just need to hurry up with the bugs/issues and content.

Honestly i do not understand the problem with this poll, it is in no way one sided.
It isnt trying to show how many people are bored with the game, those are statistics and would require a simple are you bored yes or no option. Where as this poll is directed at a single peice of the vanguard pie chart the people who ARE bored.
That being said i got bored around 42, sure me and my hunting buddy may have went there a little too fast, but i had a blast along the way. Then we made alts to catch up to the other guildies who were lower to play with them, took is a little faster but saw content we didnt see before, i beleive my alt stopped around 34. I just couldn't push myself to go further, i found myself not logging into the game as often. So thats where i fall.

I agree with Slyde. This poll is biased. If 30% of the respondents say that they got bored at level 30, what does that signify if 99% of the people on this forum are not bored? (Not saying those are the numbers, just giving a for instance.)
If you want to collect meaningful data, you have to collect all the data. Obviously others have posted that they are not bored, and I will add my vote for that as well. I've been playing VG since August (beta 3) and I've yet to be bored. If nothing else, the constant updates and the close interaction with the developers makes this game interesting for me.

So your saying its wrong to make a poll thats aimed at a specific group of people?

ok, lets try to explain it to you this way. pick an illega activty. any illegal activity. can be as benign as illegal parking, to whatever you can imagine. the more twisted the better, because you'll see why this sort of setup doesnt work.
I'm going to go with underage drinking. now make a poll in your head. I'm going to call mine "where you started drinking?" now populate your poll with numbers that constutute underage drinking (here in the US, any number under 21 will do, excluding that one state that doesnt take the federal bribe....errr assistance) njow say something to the effect of "this poll is only for people that think activity X is ok at that age/time/situation, and we dont really care that some people might agree that it should stay illegal, we just want to present the info that suits us.
now imagine that your polls "revealed" that out of 100 respondants, 90% of them feel like the age falls somewhere between 18-20. you goto mr government and say "hey, our poll shows 90% of the respondants think people over 18 should be allowed to drink! lets get on it!
meanwhile, another 900 non respondants think that the drinking laws are just fine. it's one thinkg to make statistics tell the story you want. it's another to tell a story without all the letters i the alphabet

your poll is biased, and cant be considered legit because you dont give any option for us non bored peeps.
maybe your just not getting it.

That's not what this poll is trying to find out though. I'm going to change your analogy to show how it better fits this poll. To do this we would ask those who began drinking when they were underage at what age was it that they started. This is useful information for the government and social scientists to learn, they can now find out what age is a common starting point for underage drinking. They can research what factors are driving underage drinkers to start drinking at certain ages and try to find ways to reduce or eliminate them.
Knowing that x% of people started drinking when they were underage doesnt really help with this study, in fact the extra data to collect gets in the way of what they were actually looking for. In a different study that could be valuable, but not for this one.
This isnt an advocacy poll trying to convince people the game is boring this is a poll trying to find where people who are having problems with the game are running into these problems so that sigil can work on these problem areas.
Does that make sense to everyone?

Just pass it over and move on!your one to talk bud. follow your own advice sometime when you post on other threads.

but, alas. i will stop i guess. others have the same views as me, but im the bad guy. just remember, alot of those 50~ votes are us that cant vote. not just me.

make sense? sure, to a point, BUT again, those 100 people say they get bored, 90% at point X, sure that seems like a problem, but if another 900 say they're NOT getting bored, PERHAPS it is really an issue with those 100 people who got bored, more than the actual game

you absolutely can't say everyone that left did so because of boredom. especially with this poll. It could have been money, it could have been lack of time, it could've been change of commitiments, it could've been any number of things not related to boredom, that a 10 spot poll can't cover

I'm sorry, but I don't agree. If you are only collecting data from underage drinkers, then you don't know how big of a problem underage drinking is. If those people represent .0001% of the population, does the government need to spend their time looking into solutions? It doesn't matter if kids started drinking at 15, 16 or whatever, because the majority of people waited until they were 21, so there isn't a big enough problem for the government to bother stepping in.
If you don't collect that additional data, it makes the problem seem larger than it is, which is obviously what the creator of this poll intended.
This isnt an advocacy poll trying to convince people the game is boring this is a poll trying to find where people who are having problems with the game are running into these problems so that sigil can work on these problem areas.

No, it doesn't. If the people who vote in this poll, the people who are bored with VG, only represent 1% of the total population, then what does Sigil need to work on? You are misrepresenting the size of the issue by shutting out the people who aren't bored.
I could make a similar poll:
What do you think the monthly fee should be for VG?
Free
$5
$10
See what I did there? I locked out everyone who thinks the current fee is fair. Should Sigil change their pricing structure based on the results of this poll? No. Nor should they work on the game to make it less "boring" based on the results of your poll, because you aren't representing the playerbase fairly.

In some peoples' eyes, including the government and those official intervention programs, even 1 underage drinker is too many.
You can't simply say that because the number may be smaller than than non-underage drinkers that it isn't a problem.

In VG everyone is a twink at level 15, unless they don't know how to play.
Twinks are boring as hell to play. Why? They are easy mode.
If Sigil wants to make VG fun, reduce the fat loot and cut back on the ubber skill damage.
If you're level 15, and you have one green, consider yourself lucky.
That and improve the mobs. Mobs should have a large aggro radius, there should be lots of patrols, mobs should run like a stuck pig at half health and aggro everything they touch and more mobs should be linked.
Then you would have a challenging fun game.
I don't twink in WoW, because ultimatly, twinks are boring to play.

So, bringing it back to VG then, you think Sigil should spend their time working on content that 1% of the people, people who already did that content, found boring? How is that an efficient use of their resources?
I don't know what the actual numbers are. Maybe 99% of the people thought the game got boring at level 30. But unless you include the people who aren't bored, you don't know what percent of the people are bored. Therefore, you don't know how big the problem is and whether it is worth shifting resources to address it. How hard is that to understand?
It's clear that by not including that data, the creator of the poll is biasing the results toward his opinion that the game is boring. It's just like the old line that people can come up with statistics to prove anything.

I think that if the data shows that a significant portion of the votes are centered around one area, then perhaps it would be beneficial to look at that area and see what could be the cause.
The ONLY way this data could be misused is if the poller said 'EVERYONE IS BORED AND HERE IS WHERE THEY GOT BORED'. If you bothered to read the first post you would see that this poll is only for the bored. There is another poll that lets you choose 'not bored'.. so go vote in it. What's funny is that this poll has 3x the number of votes than that one.

Guys please!
This poll is about finding out from that subsection of the community here that has gotten bored with the game, at which point they got bored.
If you're not bored like me, you do not fit the "demographic" that this poll is trying to find something about. If you're unable to accept that, you're either an obsessive compulsive who can't handle having a poll that's not aimed at you, or you're just trolling because you're bored and want to be obnoxious.
The image you're portraying to the outside world is that people who aren't bored with Vanguard are forum-trolls and nitpicking compulsives. How many potential customers do you think will be swayed to sign up for a subscription with that as an example? Besides, after 3 pages of this, you're beating a dead horse.
There's a "sister poll" for those who aren't bored to vote in. and maybe there should be a very simple Are you bored yes / no poll (not even are you bored with vanguard, just "Are you bored") as well.

BTW You can view the results by clicking 'View Results' without voting.
And the reason that guy was able to vote 3 times is because I made the poll multiple choice, as there is/could be multiple level ranges that bored you.
I.E. Someone may of got bored at 15, fun at 20-30 and bored at 35-40 again so they are able to vote on 15,35,40.
