I just read this 'infomercial' style review (http://www.whitewolfclan.net/pobs/review.htm) and it sure looks good. Not to mention the release date is not far off. This game had 5 years of development , comparable time to vanguard, and the design and implementation SURELY looked much better than Vanguard. Of course, we can't played it yet so can't really say much more.

Wow... This is the first I've seen or heard of this game.
Looks Great.
I'd Definitely give it a shot.
Only like a month or so away from scheduled release.
Best,
Phae

The game wont be coming out for a few months(or more) because they havent hammered the details about their publication deal. Oh well though, more time to test and polish the game IMO! :)

yes it looks great and it is a DX9 game... which will translate to good performance and still look good.

How does it being a DX9 game translate to good performance? We don't even know how DX10 games will perform, and keep in mind not all DX 9 games that "look great" actually "run well"...Case in point - Vanguard...

It looks interesting but the four sides seem like they're going to be unbalanced with I'd guess 50% of the pop being Pirates (one of the sides) and the other 50% split amont the three nations (Spain, France, England). So I'm curious how that is going to play out in the live game.
Also I don't like the fact you can't swim.

Your rpobably right, I was under the impression that Vanguard was designed in its core to be a DX10 game...and aiming at DX10 Hardware...that is why I said that.
While being a DXany does not necesarilly translate to looking great, it does at least give an idea of the upper and lowe hardaware requirements. Vanguards upper requirements even mid range requirements target DX10...no?

I cant wait. Yar !
Seriously though, it looks like a very interesting concept, cant wait to try it out - even applied for beta, even though I had to use Internet Explorer to do it (no Firefox love to upload the DxDiag they wanted)

This game has one of the most thoughtfully designed (manufacturing-based) crafting systems I have ever seen.
And strategy based combat.
Lots of meat on these bones.... :)

Coming out in early June is it? With the POTC flick hitting around the same time, this could be a hit. (the graphics and gameplay both look quite good)

Most people probably would play pirates. But I imagine that people playing for nations will have better tech/ships, more ports, more funding, more allies. And those the three nations wouldn't necessarily have to be hostile to one another, they'd probably always be hostile to pirates.
There's many ways the game could be balanced both by the players and the developers.

No, it's not coming out in june. See my earlier post in this thread.
They have to delay it so they can get all the details straightened out on their publication deal that they're lining up. They want to do it right, so they're delaying release until they can get the publishing deal they want.
