Lothenland and Deriken

I saw in the Wiki that Lothenland is the home of Deriken the Wizard - what's the source on this? Also, I wonder if he's the guy stirring up the undead and elementals and such. Could he be the Big Bad of pre-expansion Vanguard?

The first mentioning of Lothenland was in an interview with B. McQuaid by Kiranth when he was at warcry:

The second continent already underway is called Lothenland, which is a higher level non-starting continent, and other than to say it’s also very visually distinct as we are very explorer-centric here at Sigil, we won’t be saying much more about Lothenland for quite some time (don’t want to spoil things, do we?).

I love that they are keeping this place as shrouded in mystery as they are. I can't wait to visit it. :)

I believe Lothenland was originally planned as a full-fledged high level continent.

I thought something was fishy when I saw posts made by Elrar before he became a Sigil employee.

Lothenland is not in the game currently. It was put on the backburner in November or December. No, it was not planned to be a continent, just a large island.

Lothenland is a continent of its own based on previous lore we have released. Besides the information in the Wiki there's not much more I can say than already has been said those many years ago. :) Due to the age and fact that we're working on a lot of other projects at the current time and near future any information about Lothenland is of course up for discretion and may be changed.

Thanks Therian, I must have missed that. That comment alone gives me a reason to play Vanguard for a long, long time. I may complain about aspects of Vanguard in other threads (you know, experience etc), but I do like this game a lot.

I could never leave Vanguard before I have seen every possible inch of the world that I possibly can; fast exp or slow exp. The thought of a new continent that dwarfs Thestra, Qalia and Kojan leaves me bubbling with delirious excitement.
