howdy peeps. dont make threads very often, but this one is kinda important. i know this will get moved eventually, but hopefully i hit a few peeps along the way.
in the craft channel yesturday we had a heated discussion with a few players. it involved buying boats off the carpenters for lets say 20g for the sloop. then that person who bought it, would jack the price waaay high, and put it on the market.
not naming names, but wanted to let you honest folk out there lookin to buy boats, to be wary when buying boats off the broker. most likely the price is way too high, and to come and talk to the peeps in the channel.
housing parts seem to be the same, though im sure a bit harder.
just a warning from a friendly crafter. and to those honest folk out there that want a boat or housing parts and cant afford it from the broker.
have a nice day :pirate:

Thanks for pointing this out!
I caught some of the arguments I think and it did get nasty. It wasn't "contained" to craft channel either.
Prices for which things are put on the broker aren't necessarily price at which they get sold folks. If you think something is ridiculously expensive, odds are that's what they are. Check with the folks in crafting channel. They keep each other pretty honest there. Especially when Simnir the Goblin's on.
Sigh. I sometimes wish some MMOG would introduce a Dutch auction system.
As seller, you set a maximum price you want to sell for, a minimum price and then put it up. The price will automatically drop over time to your minimum and goes to the first person to bid (assuming he has the money). If your item hits minimum prize, it stays for another minute, then gets returned to your mail. Auction fee is seller's loss.
There's probably a lot of reasons why this is a bad idea, but it does avoid some issues like ridiculously overpriced items on the broker, placed there as a sort of bank, or hoping to lure a "moron" with too much money.

I sold my boat for a ton more on the broker.
People will always pay more for things that are ready and hassle free. Same as real life.

Is it too hard to use capital letters?
Why? Do you break out in hives when people forget to capitolize? Is there some unseen force that causes you pain when people don't punctuate properly? Does any color other than white cause your eyes to bleed?
Or are you just being picky because its Chae?
Sloops are going for 1.5p min on Tharridon..
