hey ive been having lots of trouble getting the cash needed for a sloop and i was just wondering how do you guys all make your money, and whats the best way to make money without having to slave over my monitor for countless hours for a high level of crafting? any help is greatly appreciated.

to be honest i join a guild which works together to get the mats and the appropriate crafters in the guild that enjoy crafting, then we get it done as a team.

Sadly, it's slave over adventuring to do it. Crafting/harvesting to get rares and sell them or just whack mobs and get coin that way. But no matter how you do it, it's going to be grind. :(

Join a good guild and you can usually work something out with the crafters (didn't pay a cent for my boat).

Harvesting isn't that bad grind. Have a 30 G plot, unicorn and a sloop - needed one week for raising harvesting skill up to T5 and a few days harvesting for rares to get all the money.

Find named mob, farm relentlessly for its yellow drop, place on broker. Rinse, repeat, move on to new named, wonder what the hell you're doing wasting your life, try to remember to eat, drink and what wife looks like.

Vanguard: Saga of Grinds....Any reward in this game can only be acheived through countless hours of mindless and repetitive grinding. It sucks, but apparently this is 3rd Gen. WTB 4th Gen, Stat!

Name one game which doesnt involve grinding to attain large amounts of money?

jeesus, most people work ALL their lives so they have enough money for a decent pension, thats grind.. its a fact of life! and I dont see ANY mmo changing this... it has nothing to do with generations it comes down to a simple fact of life which every business in the world acknowleges..
time = money

So to answer the OP, there are many ways to make gold on Vanguard and unless you chose to look at exploting a game mechanic or befriending a rich person then there is NO quick soloution!

Whilst im sure there are ways to maximise the amount of gold per hour you gain this is often at the expense of having fun.

I too would like a sloop, and a camel actually :) - But Im happy with the rate of income I get just from normal adventuring! I make sure I harvest when I can, I do a bit of crafting when its quiet in the guild, I make sure I put items on the exchange at GOOD prices so that they sell..

Just have fun, the rest will come :)

Well I DO harvest sometimes - but honestly, nobody buys my harvest. Get a rare, put it on broker, be happy if its sold after a week. I dont even bother anymore to put any gems into the broker... I have only sold ONE SINGLE gem on the broker so far, and even that was only a t2 !

Crafting would need a lot of time without anyone asking me for groups ... its really hopeless, I should have made a different but my main char my crafter main.

Goodness me, if something on the exchange hasnt sold for a week then you have it up for the wrong price!

either take it OFF the exchange and trash it (sell at vendor) or reduce it in price.

In situations like this I look at what the vendor offers me for it, then I look at the cost of putting it on the exchange.. add the two together and just make some profit! - ANY profit is better than NO profit.

Sometimes you can put it at such a low price that someone playing the market will buy it and re sell it! - fine.. give the work to someone else to do just keep those items selling and keep the cash rolling!

Whatever you do - don't go buy some really really cheap gold from the RMT sites that can so easily be found, cos paying about $5 for a few plats will really cheapen your game experience, as instead of running around and worrying about how to "earn" pixel cash for neat game toys you would just have it instantly for less than a packet of smokes...

Just buy it. Everyone else seems to be doing this as the economies are totally wrecked atm.
Despite Sigil's zero tolerance for gold sellers, dupes are widespread and have been continuing for weeks now. The state of the economy is probably the biggest issue with this game currently.

I don't condone it, but it gets to a point when you think, why they hell should I care when it seems no one else does.

Just to add, I have never, and will never buy game money.
