What would bring you back to Vanguard?

I haven't played VG now for around a month, but, even without the performance issues, the game is still lacking something absolutely crucial for me: Character development.

Anarchy Online had it (shadowlands), EQ2 ultimately added it's own (albeit crappy) form of talent tress and we all know that WoW had it.

Why omit something so fundamental to RPGs?

That is just my opinion, but I'm interested in what would bring the rest of you back that liked the game for a month or two until it wore off.

This is not an OOC topic, since it deals exclusively with Vanguard.

This is also not a volcano topic, since it is not attacking, but SUGGESTING.

I didn't buy this game to play by myself in the middle of no where, but that's all I can do since release. I shouldn't have to join a guild just to get a group.

As the VG "Vision" stands today... provided I had income and wasn't literally struggling for food money... a greatly reduced monthly fee to compensate for the tech issues and lack of content until such time as they were fixed. (Say something along the lines of $8 a month vs. the ~$15 it is currently.)

Yes and no. The parts new would be almost nothing next to what I paid for them. In fact, my rig is very close to the ~$800 full system build in my sig.

Sure, the 8800 GTX still has value, but that may need to be sold in the next few days. If so, regardless of what I get to replace it (as I obviously can’t not have a GPU) I’ll be taking a $250 loss because of the original price I paid, shipping costs, tax, etc.

I havent left and still having fun. That said I do find myself drifting back to EQ2 lately just for the fact of uncertain future. With an announcement in a couple weeks that will help alot but also I dont want to advance my toon to much just because what happens when the servers merge and you merge with a server you may not want to be part of. Also some of the wholesale changes lately such as the nerf to charm, the huge boost to clerics when I dont think monks or disciples have been looked at in months. Those are just examples and are not complaints as much as fact to me anyways. Another thing that bothers me is the lack of direction and lack of information on such things. I love the game and want to play every chance I get but the uncertain future sort of shoots any motivation in the foot so to speak.

Epic Unreal Engine is trully crap for large game mmorpg (great for small map fps).

i dont think its the engine. it doesnt render the whole world just your chunk really which some arnt much bigger than some maps. imo its the coders fault
