I played and loved vg for the first two months, then i lost the ability to pay for my account. Ill have that ability back in a few weeks. Can anyone give me a play by play for vanguard's development, population, bugs, issues etc for just the past two months?
And whats this im hearing about an ITEM DUPE!? GOLD DUPE!? I mean how the hell, i thought that stuff happened to lower class games like diablo 2......but in an mmo??? How the heck?
Are woefeather and Thunderaxe still the best populated PVE(non rp) servers?
I need filling in

Well, there is rampant duping going on (confirmed by Sigil). Try doing a google search for Vanguard gold and look at the prices :/
They stopped patching as often as they used to, and they just had a really big patch. Which added a LOT of problems. Harvesting rares and ultra rares is now common, charm is broken, clerics are godly once again and teleporting to NT can end up in a CR.
They added clicky teleports a little while ago too, you have to go to the points and unlock them, and then you will be able to port there from certain other points on the same network.
Some high level grind fest quests have been added to the game, items have been "rescaled" (toning down the difference between an uncommon and a legendary) crafted gear got made Bind on Equip and as of the last patch has some incredible stats on it.
Ummm that about covers it all, thought there was a bunch of 40ish content added, there still isn't much to do at 50 other than faction grind at Teht Harbor or Rahz or item grind at Rahz or the thestran Swamp.
There is also raid testing announced for Test server soon.
Oh yeah, rumour of the week is SOE is buying out Sigil.

Balouch pretty much got it spot on...
Sadly - 3-4 months into release, and there is STILL nothing to really do at the end game... seriously, how can they really hope to keep their player base when everyone that hits 50, leaves not to long after that. I am just at a loss for words as to why they don't add something more for the 50 crowd? It's not like more and more people aren't hitting 50 everyday... (And yeah, I know they are finally getting around to testing raid content, but it took them this long to just TEST it!?)

OMFG IT'S NOT THEIR FAULT YOU RUSHED THREW (deliberate sp) CONTENT, WHY DON'T YOU TRY CRAFTING AND NOT RUSHING TO LEVEL 50 AND STOP PLAYING SO MUCH
[/idiot mode on]
Excellent defense for no endgame... especially now that even the most casual players are starting to hit 50 and still... nodda.

I'm the most casual player and I have a lvl 15 Monk a lvl 16 Dk 15 crafter blacksmith a lvl 5 necro and a lvl 20 ranger on the FFA pvp server.
I play when I can it's not everyday and its for 2 hours at the most more likely a hour on average.

I still have plenty to do at the endgame. Haven't played a game yet that didn't have a grind there. Not sure why people throw that around like Sigil invented it.

Wow. I can get a toon to 10 in about 4 hours now. 20 takes about a week of 2 hour game sessions. Are you sure you are playing at all? lol :D Yes, you are the ultimate casual player, but people who play an hour or 3 each night, plus maybe 3-4 per weekend day (say 15-18 hours a week, still very casual) are still getting near to 50 easily now, unless they are leveling crafting and diplomacy at the same time. Not everyone enjoys those though. I did (used to enjoy crafting), but I wouldn't want to push it on everyone.
Oh, and my highest is lvl 27. that is due to taking a 2 month break though and just comming back. Just because I am only 27 doesn't mean I don't recognize that other people have played at a reasonable pace and hit 50 and are bored. :(

The game is as broken and bugged as ever, and despite their apologies and claims of better response time, petitions still seem to be taking over 20 hours to answer.
I know on my server there only seems to be one GM working, and it takes her forever to get around to petitions, at which point she's usually so overworked she can't even read it accurately and tells you she can't help you because of reasons that have nothing to do with your petition.
It's really ugly imo in VG right now, because technically things are as borked as ever, and the few opportunities they have to show they care about what's going on, like with CS, they constantly piss all over the players.

You try to PLAY but CRASH!
Sigil tries to FIX A BUG but MISSES!
... that's pretty much how it's been going. 'Course I've been canceled for about a month or more, so I can't say for sure. :mc: ;)

It's still the same, if not worse after the latest patch. I thought my performance had gone up, but instead the game had stealthily changed my settings to balanced. I changed them back to high to where they were (a mix of highest and high) and the game was even worse than before the patch. Of course it was Saturday today when I changed them back, so the super high population was probably the reason for hitching and stuttering (sarcasm).
It's really sad when the hardware guys can't even get a game to work right... usually it's us layman that have problems as they run smooth heh
I bet even the devs when they're internally testing spend half their time relogging or crashing and hitting their desks.

They better get raid content in QUICK because faction grinding at level 50 is going to kill off the player base as they reach max level. I am at level 48 and I already can't stand it.

Don't use the highest setting. I found that actually caused some weird problems back in the day. The one that made me notice was that (when set on "highest") it would slowly pull the distance view in, as if it had some kind of DOT. After like 15 min it would go from the 300k+ that I set it to down to the minimum 10k. Changing it to "high" and flipping extras on seems to be ok though.

Hmmmm, 24 players staring at the ground, 2.5 FPS...yes any raid content will be challenging

Minus Bards you can put two or three groups together and still run fairly well.

I haven't had any problems running with everything turned on really, just the problems that seem to be with ctd and the 8800. I've thought about turning settings down though. I was watching my gf play on balanced on my old system and was wondering why the hell I paid 1500 bucks to get a new system.
I wish you still played, they just added in some new settings and I'd love for your educated mind to pick them apart :P

Some things are dangerous to have up higher. Like I know the "environmental shaders" can cause crashes and missing textures (you can see white blocks) beyond 65%". At this point I'm starting to forget which others are dangerous at what point. My settings are all at or below the safe points though.

This would be why... Crysis (http://pc.ign.com/objects/694/694190.html), Hellgate:London (http://www.hellgatelondon.com/), BioShock (http://www.2kgames.com/bioshock/), Unreal Tournament 3 (http://www.unrealtournament3.com/)

Kinda was hoping someone would shoot me a game card when I had rabb1t aid going, but I guess much fewer peeps can help than I expected.
Hopefully someone from another site (network of sites actually) will hire me to pwn hardware over there and pay me for it. So I may be 'back to normal' soon. :D
I think Foz has done some analyses of the new things that went in after I couldn't subscribe anymore. I recall one seems to have no effect beyond "medium" (character texture slider of some sort).

That was due to pushing environmental shaders slider past 80..hit 81 and the last shader layer kicks in but draw distance creeps up on ya. I leave mine at 79 and no problems.

SWG had this huge dupe issue and if you dont believe SWG has a dupe problem log in (with a free 14 day trial) and notice how every server is offering tons of credits for mere pennies.
EQ and EQ2 - no experience - but then again... look at the gold sellers.
Most of these gold sellers are using duping programs/situations. Every MMO I played has had a "dupe" issue - and its always found after a ton of people use it.
