Ok, at the risk of seeming like I'm trying to rack up a high post count (I'm not, I'm just bored at work today ;) )I wanted to know what you guys thought about whether an Enchanter in EQ1 could be an effective puller...

I submit, that a good... or even decent, enchanter who knew what he/she was doing, could make an awesome puller for the group.

Case in point:

Back in my EQ days, I played a few classes but none was quite as fun as my DE enchanter and yes, I loved to pull for my group and one of my favorite spots to pull was in Karnor's Castle (KC), specifically the left courtyard (LCY).

I'd get imp form on, so I could levitate off of walls, we'd clear the immediate courtyard, then I would head up the stairs, tash a mob, jump off the wall (it would avoid pulling a train if any mobs had popped behind it)... the mob would of course take the long way down, and I would mez it to stand in line and die as it came down the stairs. Sometimes I'd have three or four mobs lined up, the only thing stopping or slowing us down would be the Cleric's mana reserves... good times and good xp if you could get a good group that didn't mind a little un-orthodox pulling scheme

Yes a well played chanter could indeed pull well, but like a cleric that can also pull there are other uses that they are more suited for.
