Ohh, I get lost in that mess. Folders? Folders you say! ...You, you wouldn't be interested in seeing if folders have solved any of my organization problems.

Change how you view your files. Just press View on the top bar and press something like "list" or even "details". Anything other than icons or thumbnails. Hell, even Tiles can be a little cluttering with that many files. How about putting different types of files into different folders?

For example... in your... lets say... "Family" folder where you hold your pictures, videos, documents, and etc relating with your family and fun times, put each different type of file in folders like a "Video" folder where you put all your videos in, within your family folder.

So you'll go Family -> Videos -> (all videos relating family and videos).

Lets move this farther and look at your music files. Put every music files you have in a central "Music" file. Then make subfolders of your music. Sort them out by band *if you have that many songs of different bands*, genre, or even year...

While this may take a long time to sort out your computer, it does make it easier to look around and pick out things you need. And when you defrag, your computer will thank you and should run even faster.

Also, get yourself ObjectDock.

http://www.stardock.com/products/objectdock/

Here's a pic of my desktop (http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/4513/desktop5dm.jpg).

My desktop might not be 100 percent work safe. I'd say it's 60 percent work safe.

Here's a work-safe shot. burn. (http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3540/desktop1sr.jpg)

Why not put those video games on your objectdock?

Then it's only a click from your desktop. Shortcuts suck.

Also, you can sort out the files by type of program. So you can have all of your .exe files in one set.

I think I got it from deviantART. (http://www.deviantart.com/view/659/) Just a normal wallpaper with the folder properties changed so they don't display. But you can get whole WindowsBlinds/DesktopThemes by now.

It's called Nijikon Fetchi.
