I've held off even admitting to myself that I will play Vanguard by telling myself I don't have time for it (games tend to adversely affect the rest of my life). However, I've spent about 10 hours a day just reading the vanguardsoh.com, silkyvenom, and other sites so I guess there is more free time in my schedule than I thought. :)

About Me:

I value being valuable above all. In past guilds I've rolled new classes based on what the guild and the server needed the most. That's what's enjoyable to me the most in these games; filling a needed role and doing it better than anyone else. Along those lines I like healing classes the most, although if these forums are any indication we're going to have plenty of those. Berserker also looks very promising in this game if only because it looks difficult.

I've always been addicted to strategy games (I even play poker as a profession) but was only introduced to the mmorpg world when WoW came out. I levelled my Priest up very quickly (2nd to 60 on the server), finally got into the best guild, and then gradually lost interest. I only played for 3-4 months total. One of my roomates tipped me off to Vanguard although she may not even be playing it when it comes out. I'm doing my best to drag her into it and I think I'll be successful.

Like I said I'm a poker player and a political analyst. I'm 24, female, and live with two roomates. I'll probably play Vanguard pretty hardcore for a few months and then reduce my play time to 15-20 or so hours a week depending on when the game comes out and what happens with my career.

What I'm Looking For:

A mature, dedicated guild. Communities are really what these games are based around so it's best I should be with like-minded people. I also get annoyed with people sometimes (I'm sorry, I just do) so if I'm in a guild that talks a lot in guild chat about things that could be sent in a private message and are non-game-related I'm tempted to turn guild chat off. Yes, I am kind of a bitch in that way but I am polite and very nice and helping otherwise.

I also really want to be in a competent guild. Since I didn't beta-test WoW and didn't know anyone else playing it, I was in some really bad guilds at first and hated it. This is really the most important thing for me. Annoying "omgwtfpwnzered" chat I can always deal with, but bad groups I don't think I can take again.

Continent doesn't matter. Time of day does not matter. I have always had very flexible and weird sleep schedules.

I'd also prefer a guild that doesn't require vent any other voice communication. I think it's more distracting than it is worth, my roomates really start to look at me as a freak when I do that, and I'd rather listen to music than some guys breathing and mumbling to themselves.

Anyway, just wanted to say my piece. Great forum you all have going here and I'm really looking forward to trailblazing this new world with you all. :)
