This weekend i was doing a stress test for a new online mmo, and i wasnt too pleased on where this genre is going. I dont mind doing quest and other things, but when i am forced to do quests all the time, it just plain sucks. I was wondering, why i didnt like wow so much, then i was talking to a good friend of mine and he broke out with that he didnt like to quest all the time. And then i realized that is where most of these games are going. I hope that with vanguard i will have a little more freedom to do what i want then to have it scripted for me. I dont mind doing quest from time to time, but i would rather just go get a group and go kill the gnolls on the hill, not because i have to, but because i want to get some experience.

I enjoy going out and exploring, and seeing what is going on. I dont want to go to gnoll hill to find out they are there because there is a quest.

I am highly disappointed in the game i just got done stress testing. I will say more when the nda is lifted....

;)

I didn't sign up in time for their stress. Doesn't sound like I missed out on much though. :)

I also did the stress test and i agree 100%. Not much depth to the game. Half of the fun is to find that hidden dungeon / castle / whatever. Taht was one of teh tings taht initially drew me to ultima online.

The game was ok, but i dont think will be something i will purchase, but i will help them out doing tests. I am not doing anything right now and i will help make a better game. It seemed more like a rpg then a mmo... if u know what i mean. I love DnD. So anything i can do to help out the name... =)
