Somewhat interesting article, though a long read
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing!
I read the article. Funny how it doesnt mention the end user's bandwidth.
Online games take VERY LITTLE bandwidth at all for a single user at his house. a single user only uses 32 kilobits to 128 kilobits (max) on a MMORPG over the internet connection. that is in kilobits. So that would be about 4kilobytes to 16 kilobytes of data a sec. Which is virturally NOTHING at all.
Now if you look at the other end where all the game servers are housed, 100,000 people do add up to a very large amounts of bandwidth.
So when they say they are catering online gamers.. Just on the server end. The end user doesnt take anything at all.
Now speeds are going way up on the end user end only for the mp3 downloaders out there ;p
