I'm planning on playing with a few friends as well. How about making a Silky Venom guild on Tarnished Coast and we'll see how that works out?

Like 4chan, Reddit, and GW2Guru are all going to Yak's Bend. That was my first thought but the community there is going to be nasty.

I don't really care about a beta community it is only a weekend after all. You got nasty wherever you go really thats why they invented ignore lol.

Cool thanks. I just tried and it just let me in for a few minutes and I made a character, but then the game wouldnt start and now I can't get back in :p Must be close though. The character creation was pretty good, nice looking graphics, seems like there's only 3 of the 5 races so far.

They are saving the Sylvari and Asura likely until release or at least the last beta event. They are the more unique races, I think...and they want to maintain some surprise. Also, I think those are the starting areas which have had the l east work. hehe

Ahh :) I made an Elementalist, looks super cool. I couldn't quite make his face look exactly like mine, but pretty good. Graphics of the character models looks really good though, better than Vanguard and Rift and AOC and whatever else. I like how you can pick your character's back story which seems to have some effect on how they play too, I think. UI could have been better, but was ok.

I had a hard time choosing a class because you don't really know much about how any of them play from the character select. It was a close call for me between Necro and Ele, but I chose Ele in the end because I saw people on some web page somewhere talking about how they were fun to play.

Looking forward to playing now :)

Still can't get in :( My friend thinks their login server has died. It's 10:20pm here and still haven't played! ARGH! Not very good that they can't organise this better. Although I suppose thinking positively, it probably means that a zillion people have all tried to log in together which at least means the game is likely to be popular.

I got in 10 minutes before the official launch was supposed to happen. I even logged off and got back on once. Must be in your region.

I got in in the end, about midnight. So I just played the last 4 hours or so, but now I should really sleep :p I'm supposed to be playing with my friends tomorrow in the day so I better get some sleep so I can get up and play with them. Glad to finally see it though! I posted my impressions (big) in that other thread.
