Was checking out another MMORPG this morning, called Chronicles of Spellforce. I noticed it was based on the Unreal Engine...like Vanguard. I found this particular screenshot very interesting.

Gee, those rock formations look familiar somehow...

Oh yeah, there they are.

I then read a bit about the game design and mechanics. Phew. No worries about competition for Vanguard. *sarcasm* I like the crafting in particular...

When it comes to crafting players will not have to spend endless hours of development to gain skills for making the best loot or items in the game. Spellborn offers a Passive Crafting System which will allow players to farm resources from different Shards for their respective classes. Each class can then bring these resources to an NPC who will create items they can use in game. This crafting system will certainly stop players from wasting valuable play time standing in a corner and continuously clicking away to make their own epic sword. It offers the gathering or resources without the hassle of putting them all together. It also eliminates the failure to craft something which many systems include.

...

Wow.

Heh, looks like they are going the billboard tree route too.

It's not all that bad that they have some rock spires that look kinda similar. What would be bad is if they announced their groundbreaking "Discussion" system that will add a whole new aspect to the game. :p

I wonder when it will be that we see another game, most likely an MMO, rip that off...

Read how combat works. Then you'll really see a difference.

I'm a hard-core crafter. Will there be a Passive Adventure System to kill mobs for me while I'm offline? Also, I rarely have time to devote 6 hours to a raid, so will there but a "win" button on boss mobs? It certainly would heighten my sense of accomplishment if I could log on, wipe out a few gods, and call it a day.

You need to try ProgressQuest
http://www.progressquest.com

Greatest 2nd gen MMORPG out there. Tkaes what they trued to do with WoW and EQ2 and perfects it. Sounds like this company is trying to copy Progress Quest.

Progress Quest got old for me, so I opted for an awesome title simply known as Peasant's Quest. (http://homestarrunner.com/disk4of12.html) Truly, it's the best game I've played since EQ.

They look fairly similar, but not alot alike, maybe I'm missing something. That screen looks like all around crap to me aswell...figured I'd toss that extra opinion in there for free.

Vanguard blows it out of the water, with its self-propelled boats!
The game has followers, but I doubt its any comparison to VG imo.
