Greetings to those of Silky Venom,

I have started to look for a guild to be apart of Vanguard when it is released and came across this guild, but before I decide to join a guild I have a few questions that, if possible can be answered.

1) Will this guild be an RP guild, or those who wish to RP, can RP, and those who dont, dont. If this guild is an RP guild, is it light, medium or Hardcore?

2) To join Silky Venom, is there an application that needs to be filled out or do you just invite those who wish to join.

3) How active will members be expected to be, during this time I am still playing WoW, and will not be planning to leave till Vanguard is released or if I am able to get into beta later on down the road.

4) What are the rules to the guild.

For now that is it, Im sure I could think of more, but work seems to fry my brain all the time. I hope that this is an RP guild, I have tried guilds in WoW that dont RP and I find the game lacks more with out any RP'ing and then you just lose all interest.

Quick run down on my character, he will be a Necromancer, naturally of great evil, and craves souls, death, and power. Will stop at nothing to be the bringer of pain, and horror to those that appose him. (Lots more, but I can wait). Already in the works of a background story and some stories that deal with his encounters and travels.

Here's a good thread to get info on the guild "Silky Venom" (http://www.silkyvenom.com/forums/showthread.php?t=567)

Well, I read over it; I see nothing dealing with RP'ing which I can completely understand being that its a hardcore guild, which is another thing that bothers me, I will never put a game before my personal life.
I dont think its right to expect members to be "forced" to have to play every single day, just to stay in a guild, I think a great guild holds both the hardcore and the casual players.

All guilds are different, and as one might expect, they are typically made up of a group of like minded players that agree with the guild's charter. I'm sure if you asked SV's members, they would tell you that they aren't "forced" to play every night; on the contrary, they choose to play every night simply because it is enjoyable to them. And I don't see the connection between playing on a daily basis and losing touch with your personal life. That connection implies a basic misunderstanding of the guidelines Oloh has set for his guild.

I do agree that there is room in certain guilds for both the hardcore and casual player, but in choosing to do so, a guild sacrifices certain efficiencies and opens itself up to larger issues that could detract from the goal. From what I know of SV, the goal is to be a top tier raiding guild on the forefront of PVE content. It would have to be far easier to manage a team towadrs such lofty goals if that team was handpicked and were in agreement on the guild-first mentality and comfortable with guild guidelines.

So don't fret if SV isn't for you, there will be plenty of guilds out there, but also understand where the team that makes up the guild is coming from; what their goals are and how they can best empower players to reach those goals. It's likely that the guild you will eventually choose will have a far different set of goals to reach.

And for clarification: I am not a member of the SV guild. SV-staff does not imply SV-guildmember. So if I'm talking out of my arse, Oloh will come by and knock me out.
