WTF Comics

Recently, whilst visiting WTF Comics (http://www.wtfcomics.com/) (a funny comic set in Everquest) I noticed a little link on the left hand side leading to none other than Vanguard's main page.

Just thought i'd share that. :)

It looks like community acceptance of Vanguard by veteran MMORPGs is going well. :D

By the way, WTF is really cool - I never played EQ, but i've kept up with the storyline and have enjoyed it a lot. If you have a few hours to kill then why no catch up too! :)

I think WTF Comics is affiliated with The Safehouse. I think that is why they have Vanguard linked up there. It is a great comic. There are a few others that I visit on a daily basis when I am at work.

Yeah, the Safehouse Network hosts it. I bet in return they do a little 'product placement' of rogues to keep up the class's popularity. Sneaky, tricksy rogues!

The author really likes to keep the story with classic EQ (and now mixing his own style, but that is for other reasons) so I would not be suprised if he is waiting for Vanguard like the rest of us ;)

Anyone think that Smoke is from the Matrix??

Have you looked at the few pages of the Smoke comic that STraha put up as a teaser? The guy is a RL guy with a car and everything. So, hrm, apparently Norrath is the Matrix and they are in it. Or it's something like Tron. IE, smoke is one of us...stuck in Norrath with haxxoring powers. In fact, I bet that's what the evil villain is too.

Yah I have since read the smoke comic, I hadn't read it at that point.

/edit No Lord Haxxor is from EQ, it goes into his back ground a bit if I remember right before the attack on PoK. He was a EQ PC that somehow slipped out of the system and came back with his Haxxoring powers. I could however be wrong.

After reading this thread, yesterday I read the whole of the WTF comic! I've actually never played EQ, but I still enjoyed it, the story just hooks you in :D .

I've been reading for a couple years now, since issue 40-something.

I believe the current standing theory about who and what Haxor is is that he is a PC who slipped through a "hole" in Everquest (the kind where you fall and there is sky all around you, we've all been in them). When a GM retrieved him he came to realize that he is in a game, and can manipulate the world, because it is just a game.

In short, Haxor is a PC who realized he is in a game.

Great comic though :)

Its a great comic, and can get really funny sometimes. I only wished he could update more than once every few weeks. But its on of my stops on my interweb comic rounds.
