Unbelievable - if this is true (http://www.canada.com/components/print.aspx?id=11fbf4a8-282a-4d18-954f-546709b1240f&k=32073), I'm speechless :(

Human rights groups are raising alarms over a new law passed by the Iranian parliament that would require the country's Jews and Christians to wear coloured badges to identify them and other religious minorities as non-Muslims.

That is scary and I hope that it doesn't pass.

And history repeats itself yet again...

I don't know to much about the Iranian president but is he some type of Hitler groupie or something?

The Iranian President is a cheese ball rolled in nuts. This guys has called for the complete and total destruction of Isreal and all Jews.

This is a terrible thing. If the world does not stand up and remove this guy it will only get worse. He is constantly trying to egg on the world. If this law goes into effect it is a crime against all humanity. The world united to stop Hitler. Will they unite to stop this guy? Probably not. It's not politcaly correct to do so. Sad news indead.

I have quite a few Iranian friends who are devout Muslims. They hate the country in its current state. They are so embarased that they call themselves Persians. They have movements here in the U.S. to show opposition agianst this regime but all that has done is brand them as bad Muslims.....

Oh the irony of Ahmadinejad declaring the Holocaust to be a falsehood and then reviving a law that would make Jews wear YELLOW PIECES OF CLOTH on their clothing as identifiers. (Did they decide strips instead of stars deliberately to try to distance themselves from the "rumors" of the Holocaust? or just because strips need fewer cuts with the scissors, thereby saving the victims of this law a bit of trouble?) I really have to wonder--doesn't he realize what a total dangerous nutcase he looks like to the rest of the world? (Not that he would care, I'm sure.)

Just last weekend we were talking to our 10-year-old son about the situation with Iran, and the diplomatic problems it presents. It's just so easy to say "Bush is an idiot" or "war is always wrong" like he hears so many of his peers parroting. We actually brought up Hitler in talking about this guy: "Sure, take Poland, it's just Poland after all! But you are stopping there, right?"

I hadn't heard this one. Can we say Hitler reincarnated?

This whole colour code thing needs more scrutiny. There are already denials of the story being true.

I am wondering if this story is true now. It looks like the origional link takes you to a blank page now. It looks as if the story has been pulled...

This was all over the radio yesterday...

They even mentioned that the ayatollas were going to be enforcing a dress code for muslims as well...

From what I understand the law was proprosed a few years ago but never enacted.

The paper that originally reported this story is now officially apologizing. Read the whole story here (http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/americas/05/24/canada.iran.reut/index.html)

"It is now clear the story is not true," Douglas Kelly, the National Post's editor in chief, wrote in a long editorial on Page 2. "We apologize for the mistake and for the consternation it has caused not just National Post readers, but the broader public who read the story."

Thank god. I don't feel like going to Iran. Seeing Iraq was mind blowing enough.

I wish the best for the middle east. I really do. They all deserve their own freedoms, and not having to live under a chaos reigned region.

The problems is that the middle east goverments mix their faith, with the actions they take. I don't like the idea of destroying the jews or israel, but I also don't like the way Isreael was built, far as I know, the people of Israel were what you can call "terrorist" when they started to attack the palestinians and take over their terrain, Iran assume that as an attack to them, IDK why, but I think is mostly a religious problem. The actitude of Iran's president is a new version of Facism, imho.

Peace...

im glad it wasnt true. In EQ they wouldnt do character transfers off the diety pvp server. I doubt they'd do people transfers out of the diety based pvp country either.
