Dark Messiah of Might & Magic (http://www.mightandmagic.com/us/darkmessiah/teaser/index.html)
Fantasy based 1st person view game play with a really smart AI, serious physics, and a focus just on Combat, Stealth or Magic (unlike all the skills Oblivion focuses on). Its using a modified Half-Life 2 engine, so we know it's gonna run and play well. :D
Currently slated for a September '06 release.

It'll be interesting to see how this turns out. They basically have two teams working on the same game. One team, the makers of Arx Fatalis, is developing the single player. Another team headed by one of the devs behind the Battlefield games is making the multi-player portion.
I hope the split focus does not hurt the single player game. The multi-player doesn't sound that interesting to me. From the descriptions, it appears that it is basically like WoW Warsong Gulch capture the flag with more maps.

Oh yeah, I was really looking forward to this game (I had forgotten about it tbh). I saw some footage of it about a year ago, and it looked fantastic. Can't wait for this one.

Looks like it is slated for late September according to EB. However, they have no game box pic, and I never trust any listing which is only 3 months away with no box pic. :p

I've seen the name alot..but i thought it was just a spin off of Heroes of might and magic by the title...i see its made by the same company though.

Dark Messiah is a good example of what physics can do in a fantasy setting. Telekinesis ftw!

Has the demo been released yet, or if not anyone know when it will ?

The game isn't due for a couple of months. I'd expect if there were a demo it would be right before release, so not until very late August or early September I'd say.
I peep Fileplanet daily and haven't seen anything on a demo. I'll say when I do though (obviously). ;)

Certainly looks cool. I'll be anxious to hear about the reviews it gets and what other gamers are saying about it :)

Just played through the demo twice, im really impressed with the grapichs, and i will absolutely get it when it comes out :D
Some very nice new techniques to combat, and looks like a very impressed story line.

i loved arx fatalis because you had to manually cast your spells by using your mouse to replicate symbols with your hand gestures. does DM have this kind of casting feature?

What i noticed when i casted a fireball i could control the fireball in the air and where i wanted to hit with it.
So if that is what your talking about, then yep.

Nah, I think he means 'drawing' a pattern on your mouse pad with your mouse, like a circle, and seeing it being repeated on screen. You are actually 'casting' the spell, rather than just clicking a hot key. Kinda like a pitcher winds back to throw a ball -- you're preparing the spell then unleasing it. The creature/god sim Black + White had something similar, if you've played it. I don't think DM has this hawnz, I think it's just a click.
I've abandoned the d/l, was getting 20k/s. The servers are getting hammered heh.

*bounces around fun game*
oh noes!
oh noes!
too short!
/cry
Tips:
- Use your environment!!!
The game will tell you a few times 'do x' but the environment is littered with all kinds of things to 'use' if you know what to watch for.
- Consider carefully how you dispatch the baddies
Some methods may be quicker than others, yet leave you without loots.
Fun things!
- When you finish in 'the arena area' look up!
The game doesn't call it that, but that's what it is.
No, this isn't a spoiler, this is an 'oooh look at all the work they did and I wouldn't even have noticed' kinda thing. :D
Oddities:
- The circle that is your target becomes MORE bright when you are LESS visible.
This is totally counter intuitive, but it makes sense as it is 'lit' less often than it is not. If the reverse were true it would be kind of ... annoying.
I went with a Thief build (all points into stealth) as I knew the game was balanced towards using your environment, and it is my nature when 'soloing' to split between Thief and Fighter. However, I sure seemed to make a lot of noise for a thief. (The footsteps seemed no quieter, despite my skill saying I made almost no noise.)
Looks like it has a lot of potential! :D
Must get more powerful GPU for faster framerates at max in 1920x1200! Hurry up DX10 GPUs hurry hurry!!11!!

Loved the Demo, Single player was fun, but I can see the tremendous potential for multiplayer.
