1902That's right, we've just reached a grand total of 3 thousand members signed up to our site! On behalf of all of us at Silky Venom I would like to extend a big thank you to all of you who are signed up, and an even bigger thank you to our growing forum community members. It's great to see Vanguard community spirit still going strong, and we could never have gotten this far without the support the community has given us!
The official forums are still growing strongly, no doubt fueled by the increased awareness of the game and of course the widespread desire to be part of beta 3! The official forums now have over 106,277 members, which means that we have roughly 2.8% of the community signed up. There are still plenty of you who are visiting as guests though, and of you I ask that you sign up right away and get posting on our forums! We'll be at 4000 members in no time at all!
For those who are perhaps new to the community and have not yet come across all that Silky Venom has to offer, make sure you check out our informative Vanguard FAQ (http://www.silkyvenom.com/pages/faq.php) and Silky Venom's Vanguard Wiki (http://wiki.silkyvenom.com/index.php/Main_Page) to not only read up on Vanguard information but also contribute to the community by submitting information that the wiki does not yet contain.
Those who are new to our corner of the community may also have not yet come across vgFaces (http://www.vgfaces.com). This section of the site is dedicated to a plethora of photographs of our beloved community's members. It's definitely worth a flick through to put some names to faces, and feel free to upload a picture of yourself to add to the collection!
It's worth noting that a while back Oloh, Silky Venom's owner, started a funny game with vgFaces (http://www.silkyvenom.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3567) in which one person issues a challenge to all others to dress up a particular way. The first person to post their in-costume picture on vgFaces wins that round and the right to decide what the theme will be for the following round! So far we have seen a fantastic tin-foil knight's costume (http://www.silkyvenom.com/forums/gallery/showimage.php?i=1733&c=26) by Windir, and Oloh in drag (http://www.silkyvenom.com/forums/gallery/showimage.php?i=1751&c=26). However, disaster struck! The challenge was to post a photograph of your belly emblazoned with a drawing of your Vanguard character to-be! As of yet, no one has had the courage to post such an image... are you brave enough to take the lead and win the round?
Thanks is also owed to Fozzik for his personalised corner of Silky Venom - Fozzik's Hardware (http://www.silkyvenom.com/?page=fozzik). With his numerous articles and speedy forum replies Fozzik has helped many a gamer make a more informed decision about computer-related purchases they intend to make. If you have any tech-questions the Fozzik's Hardware is definitely the place to read up and post your questions!
We also like to get the community involved in Silky Venom's day to day running, and so encourage community members to submit articles to appear on the front page of the site. If you think you have a good idea for an article and the skill to pull it off then read up about what you need to do in this announcement (http://www.silkyvenom.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2959)
Let's not forget the other fantastic tool sitting right on Silky Venom's front page, the Dev Tracker (http://www.silkyvenom.com/pages/devtracker/). This feature has recently undergone some changes to make it easier for you all to use and for us to update with new forums to search. When the Official Vanguard Forums disappear and the community moves to the numerous Vanguard fansites out there you can be sure to rely on our Dev Tracker to keep you informed of all the latest Sigil Employee sightings!
It has only been a matter of months since our last Silky Venomillennium, and we have hit a milestone once again. Once again I would like to extend my gratitude for a great community to both our hardworking staff members, both up front and behind the scenes, and all of you reading this right now and therefore supporting the site.
Give yourselves a round of applause, and make sure your back in another month or so for Silky Venomillenium number 4! :D
