Just have to say, the EU city of heroes people are really cool and so professional. Wanted to try the game out but it was a bit expensive in the stores so sent the main customer support guy an email. He sent me back a free trial key and told me where to buy the game for cheap price. Thats honestly the coolest thing i've seen from pro support people, and i'm really impressed with the way they handled that. Tommorow i'm going out and will buy COH/COV if I can find it in the store, they have fantastic customer support.

Um... er... guess just the CoV version is up. (And I don't know if that would work and let you patch from there.)
If you weren't in Europe I'd offer to mail ya my copy and you could install the client, then mail it back. With a free trial you have you your own account key, so you are just missing the client. Are there others in your area who may have a client you could borrow?
I liked CoX ok, but I don't know, I found it far too predictable. (Your damage is always exactly the same vs. a con of x type. You either hit or you miss, there is no randomness.) Also, I would have been far more into it had they used cell shaded graphics with destructible environments and high-quality cut-scenes between important missions. Just look at how awesome Ultimate Spiderman (http://media.pc.ign.com/media/748/748581/vids_1.html) is.
I'm very curious to see how the DC and Marvel games turn out. I'm wondering if you will actually make your own heroes or if they will just be 'grab type x and then go into a PvP fighting arena' type things. If it’s the latter, no thanks. :p

they sent me a link to a download also, so shouldn't be a problem getting the client. Was mostly just impressed that there was a personal response within a couple of hours with everything I needed to know in it and even some pointers about where to buy it.

Just an fyi (and nothing to do with the original post, just didn't want to create a new one) if you have ever been a paying customer of this game you're going to get a free week to see the 5th year anniversary. Yes, this means you get to test drive issue 14 which lets you create your own instances.
Happy gaming folks.
Start downloading now! ;)

I don't think I'd go back to that game when DC Universe and f2p Champions Online are available.

I might, just to see old friends but not as a long time thing.

"This morning we announced that Paragon Studios will be taking to the skies of City of Heroes for the last time," said Community Manager Andy Belford on the studios website. "In a realignment of company focus and publishing support, NCsoft has made the decision to close Paragon Studios. Effective immediately, all development on City of Heroes will cease and we will begin preparations to sunset the world's first, and best, Super Hero MMORPG before the end of the year. As part of this, all recurring subscription billing and Paragon Market purchasing will be discontinued effective immediately."
