Well the memory you recommend is back in stock and has a new price tag. $269 with $20 off. So, I am looking around now for some possible suggestions.
EDIT: Nothing really jumped out at me, so I guess it's in the hands of the buyers.

I'll fix up my recommended systems tonight (unless I forget :o ). This SUCKS! I can't believe how badly memory manufacturers are gouging the market right now.
Here are a few choices real quick. Not cheap...but at least semi-reasonable. They are good manufacturers and should work great.

The CAS latency of 5 instead of 4 isn't going to make a noticeable difference. We can only hope prices will start to come down again soon.

It's a damn shame. I can't believe it either. I understood the first price jumps after taking economics, but for crying out loud it continues to climb $5 or $10 every few days. Even the cheap/generic sticks has continued to rise.
