I can't believe this go cancelled. Actually, I can because I'd never heard of it before yesterday, but I've been looking into it and it sounded so fun (at least in premise)

The game in itself is a novelty to the scene since it takes out combat, the major driving factor in 99% MMORPGs out there, and instead focuses on the role playing aspect. Seed, being a non-combat MMORPG, put players up to the task of facing the many challenges of a post apocalyptic home: chronic overpopulation, lurking cabin fever, violent weather and alien bacteria hungry for human hosts. You shall overcome all obstacles using inane weapons, making good use of knowledge, cooperation, intelligence, humanism, ambition and science.

How much better can you get?!!!

However, the game tanked because it had no backing from a high-profile publisher (and so little publicity) and technical difficulties, NOT because it was non-combat.

So, someone else want to make a non-combat MMORPG, perhaps set in a fantasy world? I'd love one!

I was in beta until it apparently released. With like 10 peeps on it was so lagged you couldn’t do anything. Interesting concept, but I just never saw how peeps 'working in a space station' could ever be truly interesting.

As a side note; I'm truly surprised no one has made a MOG using cell shading. You'd think the spec requirements would be lower and it would be perfect for things like super hero games. (I was truly surprised City of X didn’t go this route with destructible environments from the start.)

I saw that game a little while back and I was very intrigued. It looked like a great concept... what a shame it got cancelled. I kind of don't blame the major publishing companies for not wanting to invest in such a different idea though...
